Also on July2011:
My ds wakes up early and dh and I take turns letting the others sleep. Ds plays in the living room but it seems that ds always wants to play with his loud toys. This noting I gave him a paper plate of Cheerios to play with because it was quiet. Can you recommend some interactive quiet toys. He gets bored with stuffed animals but still likes the vtech scout.
Re: Xp: recommend your quiet toys
My DD is really into blocks right now. Especially peek a blocks-

She really enjoys playing with the blocks alone but there are interactive things with them that you can turn off. She also loves carrying around the "little people" figures. You can buy just the people or some animals at target. She also likes her ball popper (the thing you press and the balls pop all over the place)..it's still loud but not as loud as battery operated toys.
She enjoys this-

Also topzy tumblers and weebles-

Or what about a small play kitchen with some play food? We are giving our dd one for christmas. That would be something yours might enjoy once they can stand or walk. Or what about a stuffed rocking horse?
My dd also wasn't into the stuffed animals either but then I gave her two at once and she had a ball crawling all over the place with them. Once she could crawl she loved them.
My LO is into blocks, balls, and books for quiet stuff.
She also likes those toys where you pull the string and they rattle or shake.
Mine also shreds paper, empties the dishrag drawer or stands on her kid chair to look out the window.
