Hi friends...

I hope you have all been well. I have been lurking around, reading posts, trying to keep up with everything...

So...after months of ruminating about adoption v. donor egg, we finally decided to do the donor egg cycle...

Since November we have been testing, reading profiles, testing, thinking about donors, psych evals for her, psych evals for us, genetic counseling, more tests, blood work...

Finally, it was a go...I started Lupron in early May. Then the estrogen pills, estrogen patches...everything was going great.

Then, last Friday, the RE calls. My 23 yo donor (baby mama) had only three follicles! WTH! 

They had me cancel the whole cycle! All the shots, pills, patches--just stopped! Now I am on stupid Provera to bring on the period that I was trying to avoid.

My organs are confused. 

I seriously cannot believe all the drama. Just one baby. Now I have to wait until almost August to try again. If she doesn't have enough follicles next time, I won't care, just blow up the eggs she does has an friggin put one in me. I will be 44 years old in December and if I don't have a baby soon, I will __________...haven't really thought about that yet...

 

Anyway...I just needed to vent. It has been a crazy week, my blood pressure is higher than ever and I really can't believe I still can't get this to work..

 

Plus three teachers in my school are pregnant with baby #3 and #4....young bucks they are...

    Oh Heather--- that just sucks that you got cancelled on the DE cycle. I hope the next one is it for you. I know it's been a long road and it is exhausting.

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    That really sucks, hope that RE has a rock solid plan to get different results with this donor.  Has she donated before?  We are  also going this route, and the thought that a DE cycle have such few follies scares the bejeepers out of me.  Hope that you will update and let us know how it's going in August.
    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    Oh my that really stinks. I am so sorry. I just turned 44 yesterday and will be doing DE hopefully in the next 6 months. Scary if you ask me.

    Hope that the next cycle is the one! Like Happywife said keep us updated!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    three??? that is crap!!!!

    Best of luck in August maybe it was just a bad cycle for the donor I guess even 20 somethin's have them not just us 40 somethin's...

    TTC since 2009 very frustrated 42yr and DH 40

    5 cycles of Clomid with satisfactory response=BFN's
    Fibroid removal Nov2010
    IUI Clomid #1 Feb 2011...BFN..damn it!
    IUI Inject's #2 Apr 2011...CANCELLED...low estradiol
    IUI Inject's #3 June 2011...BFN
    IUI Inject's #4 Sept2011...BFFN
    Lap Dec 2011...severe endo..cyst removed..some remains...
    IVF#1 Apr 2012 ....cancelled due to over suppression
    IVF#2 July 2012....6 follies...only 1 retrieved....BFFN
    surgery suggested to move ovary to an better placement but....we moved two time zones away and are financially and emotionally empty

    I'm so sorry! I really can't imagine the level of frustration you must be having...best of luck to you in August.

    Oh Heather, I cannot imagine how heartbreaking and frustrating. From someone who just started estrogen for a DE cycle, I know just how much goes into lining up one of these cycles - mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.

    Are you going to try again with the same donor, or find another?

    DH: low count + very low motility; hormones all normal; Sperm DNA Frag. test = poor to fair; male karyotyping normal
    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)

    Hi again...

    That is why I check in here every once in awhile, you are all so compassionate and understanding. I know I am not alone.

    I will keep you posted, I am going to give this a try in August with the same donor...she just seems perfect for us...
