Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If you are soy/dairy free...

have you all seen dramatic improvement? I have been dairy free for 5 weeks and soy free for 3 and so far I am not thrilled with the progress. Some days are good, but we still have evening fussing where he will scream and scratch/pull on my necklace like he is in distress until he falls asleep. I can handle that. Maybe it's colic. Today however having not eaten much yesterday, he is miserable and I am frustrated and feeling guilty that maybe formula is the better option for him. I am a bit worried that if I switch maybe his behaviors won't change and turns out he's just a fussy baby. I am just wondering what others' experiences have been.

  • It sounds like your baby might be allergic to something else.  I would suggest trying an elimination diet.  You cut out the top 7 allergens and then slowly add them back in.  Google elimination diet and you can get better instructions.  DD1 had issues with milk, soy, and egg.  I did notice a huge difference when I cut those out or when I accidentally had any of them.

  • Could be a growth spurt.  Could be he's fussy b/c of low supply if you're not eating enough.  It's hard to eat enough when you're on an MSPI diet.  Make sure you're getting enough calories, protein and healthy fats.
