So, today is the last day of school for me, and Miles' last day in daycare. We LOVE our sitter, and she has been nothing short of wonderful this school year.
Last night Miles fell while at the park and was limping around a bit afterwards. His leg even gave out a few times, causing him to tumble to the ground. He was doing a bit better this morning, but was still limping a bit, and we asked the sitter to keep an eye on him and I told her I would call during my planning period to check on him and see if I need to take him to the doctor. Well, her landline has been busy for over an hour, and I called and left a voicemail on her cell phone, asking her to call or text me about Miles and how he was feeling. I haven't gotten a returned call or text, and her landline is still busy. How long would you give it before getting nervous/annoyed/worried?
WWYD?
Re: Ok Dec. moms, WWYD?
I would already be annoyed, and on possibly already nervous/worried. Your babysitter should be watching Miles, not talking on the phone for an hour. What is she doing?!
Has M been crying much over his leg? I read an article recently about children fracturing their legs on playgrounds and limping and their legs giving out. So maybe that's why I'm more worried, I would probably take him to the doctor. Keep us updated!
I'd be annoyed, too. Do you have an email for her? I'd think she'd check her phone before email but it can't hurt to try another means if she's not responding to the others.
I think I'd still take him to the doctor or the ER for an X-ray just to be safe, though.

Thanks guys
I continued to call, and she finally texted me back AND called. She said her phone got knocked off the hook and they were outside on the swingset in the backyard, so she didn't check her cell until she came back inside. She also said Miles was doing fine, not showing any signs of pain, and that if she didn't know he had fallen yesterday, she wouldn't think anything was wrong with him.
I'll keep my eye on him, and if he continues to limp, I'll be sure to high-tail it to the pedi! (I would hate to find out he has a fracture!)
I could see her phone being busy if she was on hold with something. This happens to me when I have to call health insurance and such so I just put the phone on speaker and continue my day. It doesn't mean she's been chatting with her friend for an hour. It's a little weird that she didn't answer her cell, but maybe she doesn't realize she left it on silent. That happens to me all the time. So it's annoying, but I wouldnt flip out on her when you do get a hold of her.
I would be concerned about his leg though and a drs visit couldn't hurt.
This! Glad all seems well!
Phew! Glad that was worked out because I would have been worried!
And yay for the last day of school!!!
