C-section mommy's come in!!

So I am getting a little concerned... 12 weeks postpartum and I am still getting some discomfort doing the deed.... I talked to my OB and he said everything is fine, it's just hormones and my body still getting back to normal, but shouldn't it be normal by now? My check-up was 6 weeks ago and it really hasn't gotten that much better. I stopped nursing so I know that can't be it (since it tends to make you dry) but I am getting worried.... anyone else?

  • I've only had sex 2 times and the second time was the most enjoyable thing ever!  Even tho I breastfeed I was able to get wet and enjoy it!

Now I do still have some pain on my left side near my incision sometimes.  That does worry me.

We started up again as soon as I was cleared at 6 weeks. I admit it took some time to get better...the first few weeks hurt like the dickens! I'd say only within the past two or three weeks has it really gotten enjoyable again. I really think the more youndo it, the better it gets.
  • I've had some pain (I've only done the deed maybe 4 times though) and I think my problem is that I just am not used to it anymore. Dryness isn't really our problem either - but when I was preggo, I didn't have sex from Nov until now because it was awkward and uncomfortable. So I think I just have to get used to it again. Even still - I could just be sitting on the couch and I get cramped up inside. I don't think we're truly healed until 6 months pp - so it could take awhile.

  • What kind of pain? I dont have any incision pain during sex, though with certain positions I do still feel like Losing-my-virginity kind of tightness/pressure.  And on a totally separate note, I have incision pain when I'm laying down and DS stands up on my stomach w my holding his arms.

  • I still have some numbness in my left thigh/hip and I was doing stretches today at the chiropractor's office where I bend over and I noticed it hurt my tummy on the left side.
  • I haven't had an issues with sex-- in fact it's the best it's been in a long time.  I had no desire when I was pregnant and for all but the 2 months we were trying I was on a migraine preventative medicine that dried me out.

I don't have pain, but my incision does still itch from time to time and is still "redish looking."  I had surgery on my ankle a couple of year ago though and that incision went through the same healing process.

Now if only I could rebuild my ab muscles and have a non "flat tire" tummy as my husband refers to it. . . .  9 months on, 9 months off right?  (Honestly I'd guess that it'll take until we're ready to start trying again in a little over a year.  .  .)

  • The pain doesn't have to do with anything regarding the incision... it's more internally... almost like at the point of entrance. It's really hard to explain.. I should just make another appointment and see what is up... ugh :( I hate going!!
