VBAC

thinking ahead

Hi All,

My son was born via C section due to a long labor that turned into me becoming febrile and him becoming tachycardic. So no issues with fetal size or reasons that should prevent a vaginal birth if we have another.

I am thinking way ahead - we are no where near ready for baby #2 (and I am not sure I can even get pregnant again), but, what was the spacing that your doctor said you needed between babies to attempt a VBAC?

I don't have a OB to ask (my insurance refers me to an OB when pregnant, I don't get to see one inbetween, I just have a PCP).

thank you very much.

At least 18 months between deliveries is usually what is recommended to minimize the risk of uterine rupture, although people can VBAC with less time too.
