Hi,
I mostly lurk but am hoping you can help me out. I have an ecosash mei tail which I hate and am thinking about trading up to a better carrier with buckles. A store I shop at recommended the boba 3g, but I am wondering about real life reviews. My son is a year old, 24lbs and 30". I am looking for a back carrier that is going to last comfortable into his toddler years. We have a stroller for long trips, but would like to be able to also wear him around so he gets a better view (like at the zoo). Also I'm thinking for when we go to the fairs or that sort of thing, if he gets tired of walking I have an option without needing to drag around the stroller.
The reason I don't like my economy sash is that I can never get it tight enough, it offers no support (hurts my shouldars) and my shouldars are narrow so the straps slip down all the time.
If you have a toddler do you still wear them enough for it to warrant buying a new carrier?
Re: Boba 3g with toddler. Pros/Cons??
I wore DD, who is quite tall, in our Boba 2G until she was 2.5 and I could no longer carry her due to pregnancy. If you plan on having more children the new model allows you to use it with infants so I think it is worth it. I did find the foot strap feature useless as DD would not let us put her feet in them.
I didn't like how narrow the seat was and how id have to use the foot straps to keep his knees higher than his butt.
Hes 32# and 33".
I still wear DD and wore DS atleast until 2. I would recomend trying to rent a boba before you buy it if you have narrow sholders. I want to like the 2G so much but it just didn't fit me right. I thinki it is worth it to get a good carrier especially if you might have another child.
This website rents them and you might be able to find more places:

edit to add: I ended up sticking with my Pikkolo which I love for many reasons. I do have the support belt with it which is a must for toddlers imo.
I'm not sure about the 3G, but I have the 2G and I love it. DS is 3 yrs and in the 97th percentile for height, and I can still wear him in the boba.
The 3G looks nice and I plan to get one if/when #2 comes along!
Good luck! I hope you find something you like.
