Hey ladies! Quick question - what items do you use the most in the first 3 months? What do you think are MUST HAVE items for this stage? Thanks for your help!
We have used so many things already it is hard to narrow it down. Here are the products I use THE MOST other than diapers, wipes, and clothes of course.
Aden & Anais swaddle blanket Soothies pacifiers and a Wubbanub Rock 'N Play A good glider or rocking chair Medela nursing stool Moby wrap or Baby K'tan

The Rock n Play, Aden + Anais blankets and swaddle mes have all been amazing. i also like my ROSK (rainorshinekids.com) blanket a lot. I leave it permanently tied to the carseat and pull it over the handle when we are out in public so random people don't touch my dd.
A rock n' play like the fisher price ssnuggabunny. It's really amazing!
This. Hands down a rock n' play has been necessary! Along with: swaddles, pacifiers, and a boppy (he loves laying upright on it -- though this product tends to get mixed reviews).

I'm finding the seahorse to be very useful already. When she starts fussing in the middle of the night, that usually quiets her down. We also use the Sleep Sheep, but the lights on the seahorse seem to calm her more.
Its only been 9 days for me but so far these items have been essential.
- Swaddleme pods.
- Graco Pack n' Play.
- Boppy.
- A mirror that you can put on the ground for baby to look at themselves in.
- A few soft toys w/ black and white patterns (she is mesmerized).
- Vasalene! (sp?) Keeps the poop from sticking to her butt... A must have.
- Lots and lots of cloth diapers (to use as burp cloths and to wipe up spit-up) The nice ones that we were given haven't been touched but the cloth diapers are awesome.
Ok, so here we go, I was surprised by some of these because it doesn't necessarily jive with advice I was given by other new moms...
Dr. Browns bottles: i was told to get one of multiple types of bottles because you never know what baby will like, so I did. Apparently just about every pedi will say to get Dr. Brownsand it was like a miracle at getting my boy to stop gulping air and getting gassy.
A "mod swad" swaddle in both organic bamboo and merino. These are stretchy and the tightest swaddles I have seen. They zip up and have mesh vents so baby doesn't overheat. This was like a miracle for us. it made him happy and I would have never been able to BF my spastic handsy boy without it.
GroVia solid stick for diaper rash: it works with all cloth diapers and is so full of nice natural stuff...no rashes so far and easy to apply.
ITZBEEN: this is a small clip on idiot proof timer you can let any caregiver use to keep track of feedings, changes, naps etc. and unlike an iPhone app, you can leave it with your mom or MIL while you get out of the house. It makes my DH so much more confident and early on we would have lost a notepad for tracking this stuff.
Cheap Gerber Onesies: My baby has a lot of awesome designer duds, which I know people think is silly, but after how long we waited and what we went through it was shopping for cute stuff that kept me from worrying about what could go wrong. Anyway, we needed these to use as underwear so that my sons cord stump didn't catch on what he was wearing and ooze or bleed.
Gowns with mitts: so he doesn't scratch up his cute face
tons of cheap baby washcloths: to put over his penis during changes...the pee pee tee pees didn't work for us.
Lily padz: reusable silicone petals that prevent boob leakage

Sorry this is OT but I totally love your boxer MrsJetSet! I have a 3 year old female boxer that's a brindle too.

This! My LO has to have her seahorse.
DS (23 months) loves his and sleeps with his seahorse every night. I would play the music at the last feeding before "bedtime" and if he was fussing during a night feeding. I have already purchased the pink seahorse for DD coming in Oct.
