Now DH will only trust a 3D U/S...

When its time to determine the gender, DH is claiming he is not going to trust the U/S if it is not 3D. He wants to confirm for himself in HD lol, which is hilarious to me, because he didnt even know 3D ultrasounds existed until I told him about it a few days ago. *sigh* Its going to be a long 6 months .

    haha, sounds like my DH.. I found a place that is doing it for me at 16 weeks that is 3d/4d for 99.00 since its not something i could bill insurance for. To me its worth it! At my dr the u/s room is the size of a walk in closet and no big screen just the little computer screen, and they want to fit 5 people in there.. that wont work too well in my opinion. THe place im going has a 100 inch projection screen (hubby loves) and a sectional couch for 8 people! Yay!! everyone will be happy and it will be a great experience to see my LO's face.

    Ill be 16 weeks at my next appointment on the 18th, but they arent doing an U/S just quad testing, so ill have to wait until then to find out what date they are going to do the A/S. I found a 3D/4D place as well for $88 so now im just trying to decide if I want the 3D scan before or after my Ob/gyn does the A/S. I guess it really doesnt matter.

    I've seen ads for places that will do them for you in 4d and you take home a dvd, too.  I am really thinking about doing something like that- I know my bf would love it!  He's been telling me everytime I go in (since 5 weeks) to see if they can see the sex.  Hahaha NOT YET!  I am going to have to look into one of those places!

    Yea, I think its very neat! the place i found gives cds,dvds, digital prints & a gift bag for $80, which seems reasonable.

    I just found a center that has 3 locations all in surrounding cities!  I'm very excited and they have all kinds of packages to choose from!  Very reasonable prices, too!  I'm actually happy about this because I hate the machine they use at my MD's office! Going to call tomorrow to schedule an appt!  YAY

    when you look into these places, i wouls stick to the ones that will only do it after the a/s. they tend to be more reputable. besides if you do it too early, it doesnt really look like a baby. in the 20's weeks is when they put on some fat and stop looking like aliens.

    Ahh... thank you!  I have no clue about any of this stuff, really.  I have my next appt at almost 15 wks and figured I'd see what my doc said about finding out the sex and others tests before I go in for the 4d.  Plus, my boyfriend saw videos of people's "gender (sex) reveal parties" on youtube and got all giddy like a little kid, so he wants to find out with the family when we cut into a cake!  hahaha.  Maybe I'll wait until I'm around 20 weeks or so and then we'll already know (hopefully), so we can just get some non-alien pictures!  haha

    also you want a qualified MED tech determining the gender. at the fun ultrasound places, there is a lower education requirement. 

    save the fun scan until after the a/s scan. you wont be sorry.

    HUGE difference. Of course you'll think your baby is the cutest alien ever in the history of ever at the early stages, but they really look nothing like 'babies' that early.

    My husband was all "um...he's like--ok--right?" lol.

    Haha, yeah I think if we went in and saw that my bf would be terrified they were going to come out looking that way!  Hahaha.  Our 10 wk ultrasound made him say, "Oh no, it's head is too big!"
