I have no clue how to make a clicky poll. So if you would just tell me. Do you drink alcohol, and when/how often? What are your thoughts on drinking while bf/pumping ? My dh thinks I shouldn't drink any but I'm really craving an ice cold beer. So help alleviate my guilt here. ( I've read the kellymom page on it, I just want some real people feedback).

Re: Ebf/ep moms.. Question about alcohol consumption
Have a beer! I'll have a drink. I'm such a light-weight that one tends to do me fine now.
If you don't feel buzzed when you feed/pump, then you are good to go. If you drink a lot (or get drunk), you might want to pump and dump. To give it the most time to metabolize, do it right after a feed/pump to give you the most time before the next feed/pump.
Can I just say that I had the MOST delicious Dark 'n Stormy martini on our first date night post-baby?!? It was rum, lime juice, ginger-infused simple syrup, and a sugared rim. I wanted to drink about 6 of them, but after one, I was already feeling giggly. It was sooooo good!

Max gets a bottle of formula in the evening, so that's when I get my bottle too.
I say go for it. If you're really nervous about it, drink it right after she's fed and then give her a pumped bottle for the next feeding.
This- I have at least one drink a week.
As others have said, if you don't feel it, the baby won't either. And there's no need to "pump and dump" (unless its just to relieve engorgement) - alcohol cycles out of your breast milk just as it does your blood.
I usually have a glass of wine a night - sometimes more on the weekends or if we're out (LO sleeps through the night and always have pumped milk on hand just in case).
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
When I drink - I don't breastfeed if I feel drunk. Some rules say an hour - or 2 hours. But if I'm having a glass of wine or 2 at dinner, I just make sure I don't feel tipsy or anything when I go to feed her. If I do - I wait it out, or if we have a bottle in the fridge we attempt to give it to her (she hates bottles though).
If we are out for a night of drinking - I pump and dump since it was like feeding her while feeling drunk - so the milk is no good.
