weight gain

Anybody NOT gaining any weight yet? I have been a big girl for some time, lost almost 20lbs in the first month and only gained about 3 back. I'm 20weeks now and I've been sitting at 187 since the first appt at 9.

Not sure what you mean by 'big girl', but I do know that if you are above avg weight for your height pre pregnancy, you shouldn't gain as much as say, someone underweight. I think they say 15-20 lbs? You can google this online. At only 20 wks, you still have plenty of time to gain, and as long as your dr is not worried, you are fine! I have a couple friends who are just larger boned and curvy by nature, and they only gained 15 lbs with each pregnancy (SO jealous!!), and had perfectly healthy babies. I have only just now gained 4 lbs at 15 wks, and was borderline underweight to begin with, whereas with DD, I had gained nearly 8 lbs at this point in time. My dr isn't worried at all, even thought I was pretty scrawny to begin with. So every pregnancy is different, and there is no right or wrong as long as you are eating healthy! Remember you have 20 wks to go, so you will gain eventually... Consider yourself lucky

I'm 22 weeks and haven't gain anything either. I consider myself bigger also at 172 the doctor has never said anything about my weight or telling me I need to go ahead and gain. He just said baby girl is growing and healthy your body will gain what it needs, however he did say avg is 15-25 pounds so 1 pound a week from now on.

I haven't either. I was 118 when I got pregnant and have been holding steady at 116 since week 12....

I weighed 224 when I got PG with DS#1 and gained 16lbs and lost 50 after and then gained it all back being a SAHM ...then had #2 and gained 9 with him and same thing lost and gained it all back once I got in my routine. When my youngest was 2 I lost 70lbs and maintained it and now got PG with this one in the 100's finally! I'm 24 weeks and at my 23 week appt I have gained 21 lbs already ....just not sure if I didn't gain alot with my 1st two cause they had enough to feed off of already cause I was bigger...? Or if it's because this one is a girl and instead of being a basketball like I was with my 1st two I am growing EVERYWHERE like they say you do withj girls! lol Either way she's worth it! But I can't wait to get back to my gym routine and get back down once I have her!

I was overweight when I became pregnant this time around I'm 5 months and have only gained 4 pounds so far. My Dr. said that's totally fine and completely normal for my weight baby is growing just fine

If your Dr. said nothing about your weight then you should be just fine also, if there was something to be concerned about I'm sure your Dr. would have said something. But just ask at your next appt. at my last one I was the one who actually asked him if my weight gain, or lack there of, was normal.

I worry a little about my weight gain...I've lost 7lbs so far, and counting. I'm not overweight but not at an ideal weight either. I'm looking forward to my appt next week to hear its all ok! Good to hear others have the same 'issue'
