February 2012 Moms

I just want to brag. Is that okay?

Ah! I love being a mommy. DD is a fantastic baby. She sleeps mostly  thru the night and is very content. She only fusses when she is getting tired. I feel like I hit the jackpot and I am scared to have another one because people don't get this lucky twice, right? The only issue is that she had problems in the beginning with breast feeding so I started pumping and now I EP, which is a huge pain in the butt. I am just happy. My husband is such a good daddy. He helps out so much! He works so hard so that I can stay home with her and when he gets home he happily takes her from me so I can shower and then make dinner. He takes night shift on the weekend. I fell so much more in love with him while I watched him fall in love with DD. Life is good. I have God to thank for everything. I know now that I did a little bragging DD probably won't sleep at all tonight to spite me. haha

Oh, and I like my BMB a whole lot. Anytime I post on any board I don't get near as many responses and they aren't near as nice and supportive as the ones I get here.

Go ahead and brag a little. Lets hear it.

Ditto everything you said.  I can't believe that we have TWO babies that are such easy babies.  They go down between 7-8 and are up once around 4-5 to eat but that's it.  They sleep well in their cribs and are happy 95% of the time.  I had major supply issues so they are exclusively FF (which is a bummer to me) and they're not great eaters, but that's our only issue with them.  I start off every day by walking into their room to be great by a huge smile and them wiggling all over in excitement to see me.  Life doesn't get any better then that.

  • Brag away!  I think we all deserve to brag every once in a while.  I just want to ditto your post.  It sounds so much like me!  Ben sounds a lot like your LO and I ended up EPing, too.  I am really, really, really, really crossing my fingers that we don't hit this 4 month thing that everyone has been posting about lately!  So far, the only thing that we have faced is him wanting to be held a little more.  I really hope he doesn't go to full-on cranky baby!!!

Yea for easy babies! DH and I were just saying that dd2 is so much easier.  Daycare even told us that too today.  She only fusses when hungry it tired.

Other than having to supplement, this has been awesome!

Ditto to pp about the four month mark - hoping for the best!

  • I love this, because I woud like to brag about my LO too. He is awesome...he has been on the same eating schedule since 5 weeks old, he only cries when he is super tired. He often times put himself to sleep in his rock in play. He is always happy, and I have been able to nurse this whole time. (pump when I am at work)

  •  I was so worried about having another because DD started sleeping 12 hour stretches at 6 weeks and DH never were sleep deprived or had to deal with any difficulty with her. We figured no way could we be that lucky again, but somehow DS is even easier than her. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that when we get to baby #3 s/he follows suit!

  • I know this is probably just a BIAS mom's opinion but I saw a friend and her little boy this weekend, he is 3 weeks younger than DD and it made me realize (I would never point this stuff out to her)

DD is such a good baby in comparasion, she can completely hold up her head, she is giving it her all to learn to roll over (not while momma is at work please!), and she loves everyone who holds her, she is so smiley and the cutest baby I have ever seen. She only fusses when something is wrong, when she is hungry, needs a diaper, or is tired.

DH is an AMAZING dad, I would have never thought he would be so amazing prior to DD's birth. He loves her, he teaches her stuff, he can soothe her in an instant. I love him a million times more because he is such a great dad.

Oh and I cant say enough about you ladies, who always offer such great support :)

  • Our DD is so smart, beautiful, and has such a crazy personality (I love when she growls at us in conversation - like she's voicing her frustrations. I mean really - being a baby is hard!) Like you - we had speed bumps with breastfeeding but now she's a champ! You'd never know she refused to eat at the hospital and it was a fight to get something in her tummy!

  • I have to DITTO OP also - DD just became an easy baby last week - nap time issues somehow resolved themselves and she now does 2-3 hours in her crib and I can put her down drowsy but awake.  She is also STTN (usually, sometimes she'll get up once but I don't mind that) and only fusses when tired or bored.  Mind you, she still has days here and there where napping is difficult but for the most part she is self-regulating and I am beyond thrilled.  OP - be happy about EP'ing - at least your LO will take the bottle.  That is the one hurdle we are trying to get past now...

I really hope I don't regret typing these words haha...

  • This post made me smile! I'm so glad somebody posted this because I have been feeling the exact same way but I never wanted to say anything because I see alot of other posts of wakeful periods and growth spurts and how hard they are and I never wanted to jinx myself! DS has bern a breeze since the day he was born, he even came out smiling, he didn't even cry! My Ob and the nurses all remarked how he didn't cry and how soon he smiled! He never fusses unless he's hungry, he won't even cry when he poops or has gas, the growth spurts I always read about on here, he never went through anything like that, even this four month wakeful period I read about, I haven't seen any changes!(keeping my fingers crossed that I won't be eating my words later!) And I sah with ds while dh works nightly 12 hour shifts but will still come in the morning, get ds (he usually gets here with ds wakes up for his morning feeding around 8), and he will take him change him and feed him then put him back to sleep! He's been really great, stepping up, doing choirs around the house, he will make dinner before taking off to work, he will wash ds' bottles and get them ready with water and get the formula container ready. I feel like ds has been so great that our next lo will be total opposite!
