Back from Black Friday shopping :) (long)

And I have to say it was actually worth getting up at 3am for. My DH is thrilled with what we were able to get and what we couldn't get just wasn't meant to be. We went to Walmart at 5am to pick up a vaccuum for a friend and maybe a Guitar Hero set. DH couldn't get to the GH stuff in time but a couple of really nice girls in front of me waiting for the vaccuum were kind enough to hand me the one I needed since I couldn't reach due to my belly and the influx of people grabbing at the display. After that we hit Target but had to stand outside for about 35 minutes before it opened. The line was pretty long, especially behind us but our Target was really organized. They had security outside to keep the line jumpers out and even passed out maps to help everyone locate the sales easier. DH was sad at first because he didn't think he would make it to the Guitar Hero package he wanted (they only had 25 total) but luckily there was plenty there when he got to electronics. We had separated so I ended up grabbing the last one not knowing if he got his but once I saw he had one I gave up the one I had to a woman next to me who was quite sad she got in late. After that we wandered to a few stores just for kicks and scored some cool deals. Now I am sitting back with a bowl of fried mashed potatoes. Yum!

 One thing I have to mention was the two really nice employees, one from Target and the other from Best Buy, who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I was having some painful cramping while walking around and both people checked on me to see if I needed anything or if they could help. That really made my day. Hope everyone else had as good as a morning as I did.

    I went to Menards and got 4 gallons of paint for $.99 each!!! Well, after the rebate. Don't know if you have Menards there since it's a fairly local store--basically like a cheaper version of Home Depot. We bought a new house about 2 months ago and still have the office and the basement to paint. That was a great deal!!!

    I'm glad you were able to get everything you went for....I know you are happy to be back at home resting your feet.

     

    On another note...what are fried mashed potatoes? After going overboard with the food yesterday I shouldn't even be asking...but of course it sounds yummy so I'm curious!

    They are so easy to make. What you do is a heat a frying pan on the stove with some butter or Pam spray, press into it the potatoes that you want and heat on both sides. I like to brown mine and give it a little extra texture. Then serve it up with a little salt or pepper if needed. Warm, quick and very tasty and a different way to finish up the leftovers. Enjoy!
