any other vbac hopefuls afraid of tearing?

My very first appointment this pregnancy my midwife looks down there and says "well your vagina is still perfect! thanks to Gage - haha!" referring to my c-section.

I guess the one perk of having a c/s is that everything down there IS still perfect.

It will really suck to have scars in two places instead of just one. I'm so hoping for no bad tears.

At the same time I think it's silly to be fretting over this.

Anyone else and are you doing anything to hopefully prevent tearing? Perinieal massage with grape seed oil and that kinda fun stuff?

I pushed for a while with DD, so things aren't perfect down there to begin with. I'm a little nervous, but I figure if I get that far I'll be thrilled.

I wasn't afraid of it but I did tear and despite my 2nd/3rd degree tear my recovery was WONDERFUL. I am though dreading my first vaginal exam next week and am terrified of having sex again but the tearing and healing in itself was not an issue at all. Also, I went med free, tore, and never felt that part.

I had a 2nd degree tear. I have not inspected the area for scarring myself, but DH has made many thorough inspections of the area and has made no comment about unsightly scarring. Geeked

I have no lingering pain, no change in sensation during recreational or procreational activities, and DH seems like a happy camper with these activities. I believe that he did once say that it felt different from his perspective, but not worse, just... different.
