I started back to work PT a few weeks ago and DS is only taking about 8 ounces the 9 hours I am away from him. He used to sleep 8 hours straight at night but he is now up every 2-4 hours to feed. I am exhausted! I got in the habit of putting him in bed with me and letting him nurse through the night but I really want to break him of that and get him in his crib in his own room.
Any suggestions??
Re: XP: Any one else have a reverse cycler??
Same here!
I don't think it's a mental leap, as the next one is at 26 weeks, according to wonder weeks. Not sure if it could be a physical thing. We also just stopped swaddling too, I thought by night 3 we were back to normal but now she's all over the place.
We stopped swaddling about 3 weeks ago, but this up every hr in the first part of his sleep is new. DH has me convinced his bedtime was too early (he was a horrible napper, so was exhausted by 6pm), so we're starting to extend his bedtime in conjunction with getting more daytime sleeping. It can't make things any worse, and hopefully it helps us find the right bedtime for E. Last night was our first night with a later bedtime, and E went to bed at 715. He was up around 8pm, 915 and 11. No real difference, but I'm hoping for a better result tonight because he didn't have good naps yesterday because we were at a BBQ all day.
Yes! This happens to us as well...the other night he was down at 7, up at 7:45, down at 8, up at 8:45, down at 9, then up at 12, 2, 4 and then finally at 5am I put him in bed with me and then he slept until 8am.
Last night was better, down at 8, up at 11, 2 and 6:30...much much better actually but not great.
Just realized our LOs are the exact same age...maybe it is some sort of growth spurt ??
I am having the same problem...up every hour or 2! It started as soon as I went back to work. I am done working now, and nursing a lot during the day to try to get back to normal. I don't mind being up with him now that I am off work, but it was hard while I was working full-time.
I don't believe in CIO so I am not sure what to do but try to un-reverse!
It's not too bad since I work PT...I seriously couldn't imagine doing this every night while working full-time.
I am not really into the whole CIO either...I don't have a problem letting him fuss/whine for 10-15 minutes but once it goes longer then that or once he actually cries and gets worked up I go in and get him.
