Father's Day Gift Ideas?

So with LO's EDD on the 8th, I'm anticipating DH being able to celebrate his first Father's Day.  I'm not a big "go all out" with celebrations, but I do want to do something for him since it's his first Father's Day.  Anyone have any suggestions on what would be a sweet/meaningful gift for a first-time dad?

    I think it depends on who your DH is.  I plan on getting DH a plant to put in our garden.  He got me a lilac for mother's day (though I'm a FTM), and I'll probably get him an elderberry bush.

    I asked my brother to take him out golfing for the day. Normally this would not be a fathers day thing because I think a father should be with his children but because the baby will only be a couple weeks old, I figure it will give him a break before he has to go back to work. I also got LO a onsie that says "My daddy is a better golfer than your daddy" and I plan on putting he or she in that for the day.

    I hope my friend can get a good picture of the girls together that I can put in the frame. If not, a picture will come later.  There are all sorts of cute Dad/Daddy picture frames that would be nice.

    When DD1 was born I snapped a very candid picture of DH holding her for the first time when she as mintues old. What about doing something like that and framing it for him?

    DH desparately needs a new computer and a bunch of new tools (during our last project he broke both his reciprocating saw and his drill).  So, I'm either going to let him go pick his new computer or I'll do the tools.

    I know it's not terribly sentimental - but he really needs both and he's a practical guy.

    Not 100% sure if LO will be here for Father's Day or not- but DH has been wanting a Hammock for a long time so I figured I would get him that for Father's Day, plus his birthday was in April and he couldn't decide what he wanted for so long- so I think it is going to be a "combined" gift.

    It surprised me that he picked it out when we were registering. I also got him a big surprise gift item that he's been wanting for a while but we haven't purchased yet because we had so much baby stuff to buy yet.

    For his first Dads day, we did a make it yourself stepping stone and put LO's foot prints in it with stones.  It sits in our garden.

    I am thinking maybe a canvas print picture of him and the girls, once I can take one :)  or maybe having DD decorate something for him at one of those do it yourself pottery places. 

    If you are on Pinterest, there are lots of good ideas.

     

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker~ Diagnosed with PCOS in March 2009. Taking Metfomin for insulin resistance and irregular cycles/ovulation. Had healthy baby girl in Jan 2010 via C-Section (HTN and Breech Presentation).
    ~ Miscarry at 8 weeks with D&C in May 2011 (low progesterone).
    ~ Had a healthy baby girl in June 2012 via C-Section (on prometrium to sustain).
    ~ Surprise pregnancy at age 40!  Baby boy due April 26, 2021 (took prometrium to sustain once pregnancy was confirmed, 3rd C-Section planned).

    I didn't get him anything baby related because he's been inundated with baby stuff for 9 months, and while he loves me.... loves our unborn baby and cant wait to be a dad (he's planning our first disney cruise with the baby.... which wont be for 6 years at least hahahaha) I thought it would be nice to get him something for HIM... so I ordered him a set of trading cards for a game he plays (magic the gathering) and also as an early father's day gift bought him a copy of Diablo 3.

    He also wants nekkid pics of me while i'm still pregnant because he thinks it's so beautiful (i feel like a hog)... so i'm thinking about letting him take one or two tasteful ones.

    I got DH a Diaper Dude diaper bag.  A little pricey but the best on the market for dudes.  I already gave it to him (fully stocked).  He was pumped.

    I'm thinking of doing a beer of the month club for my H. I think I will make that from me and get him something cute from the baby like a frame that says "I love Daddy".
