Opinions on Mesh Feeders?

I'm interested in getting a mesh feeder type thing for DS. He hates purees, but likes to suck on fruits whole. I did a little research on Amazon and found a few mesh options, but then also found a silicone option by KidsMe. From what I've read the mesh ones are hard to clean, but the silicone ones are harder to fit frozen items in.

Does anyone have experience with them? What do you prefer?

I have a mesh one. I've given it to E exactly once. She put it in her mouth and looked at me like "What the fcuk is this?" She didn't like it at all. We haven't used it since.

we have a mesh one and use it a couple times a week. I don't think they are that big of a pain to clean.

We have a mesh one too. E likes it pretty well, but it is a giant pain to clean (depending on what you put in - bananas are the worst!). I usually just give her BIG pieces of fruit to suck on directly - no need for a mesh bag. A big chunk of melon or apple will keep her busy and there's really no worry that she'll be able to bite a piece off (no teeth yet) or get them stuck in her throat (since they're too big).
