Has anyone tried the version of Similac that specifically says "reduces fussiness and gas"? Do you notice a difference? Currently my kids are on the blue bottle-- Advance-- but I am thinking about trying the pink. TIA!
We use the orange Similac Sensitive. I think the pinkish red Similac has Rice Starch added to it for extreme spitup. Then a dark pink that is the soy formula
DD did really good with the Similac Sensitive. She is Lactose Intolerant and would get hard gassy stomachs and would have one poop every 4 days and it was a runny blowout. Plus we gave gas drops like crazy and they didn't help with the Blue Regular Similac. I would try the lactose free first if you think they have a problem digesting the lactose enzymes. If it is more than that I would check with pedi and see what they think about switching to soy.
Also around 6 months Walmart came out with a Generic Similac Sensitive and it worked wonders with DD. She used this from 6 -12 months with no problems and didn't know the difference. Plus it was $14.88 compared to $25 a can.
We just started trying it. We were on emphamil - yellow, I think just regular. We were always giving them gas drops so we tried their non fussy/ gas formula. It worked great for a couple days, no gas drops. Then they started rejecting it and only drinking about half their bottles. We are now trying the Similac pink. It is working OK for us. I am noticing more gas than with the emphamil kind. I also give them pumped Breast milk during the day and they are seeming to prefer that over anything.
