LO has been spitting up occassionally recently, but did 4 times - once before a nap, and three times since he woke up 15 minutes ago. I tried to give him a little bit of Pedialyte. He's playing fine now, but should I take him to the dr soon?
Is he spitting up or vomiting? There s a big difference.
Babies spit up and it not a big dea. If they are vomiting then keep them hydrated. You will know by the number of wet diapers. If they are not taking in fluids and not making 6 pee diapers a day then you need to go in. Otherwise I would call in the morning if it keeps up.
Is he vomiting or spitting up? If he's spitting up I probably wouldnt call pedi at all. If he's vomitting for more than 24 hours or is dehydrated/ can't keep water down then I'd call pedi/ go tO the Er. Our pedi told us to give Tim watered down apple juice and only give about an oz an hour for 2 hours if he can't keep that down then take him to eR . Long story short we had to take him in
Good luck

Thanks. I am not sure how to tell the difference between spit up and throw up - but it sure smells like vomit. He doesn't really spit up any more, which is why I thought it was vomit.
My DD had a little stomach bug when she was around 4 months old. Took her to the pedi because she was actually vomiting, like you could hear her wreching and then she would spit up what she just ate and then some. She went all night without barelya wet diaper.
Pedi said as long as she was making at least 2 wet diapers per day and taking in at least half of a normal feeding then we were ok. You could try pedialyte if you want but only if he is actually vomiting and seeming dehydrated. Keep an eye out for wet diapers and call pedi in the morning if you are concerned.
Re: vomiting - when to see the pedi?
