This is a check-in for the ladies of TTCAL that are in the various stages of IVF from developing a plan, waiting to start treatment, starting treatment or in the 2WW. IVF is something that many of us never thought we would even be considering, but is now a reality and our only chance of having a child. This group is here to support eachother as this journey can be trying and confusing.

     I officially start Lupron tomorrow morning before work. 2x per day until 6/9. I am beyond anxious to get my 1st shot over with and I am a little nervous doing it tomorrow morning since I am not a morning person.

    IVF related: What has been your least favorite part of this process to date?

    Waiting, and waiting, and waiting. We knew in November we were going to have to do IVF but because I am donating half my eggs we had a few extra steps to go through that added time to the process and we lost our first match. I feel like I have been waiting forever to get started.

    Non-IVF related: Happy Memorial Day!  Are you grilling today>  What's on the menu?

    I am not sure yet. We just got back from New York and DH is sick. If so I am thinking BBQ chicken, corn on the cob, and a salad.

    carseat - Welcome to the check-in.  I'm very sorry for your loss and wish the best of luck with your next cycle.

    BOTB - The first shot is the worst because of the anticipation and build-up.  I didn't do Lupron, but I know the needle is the same.  Good luck hun, we're here for you!  And thanks for the well wishes on my beta!

    THANKS!! I feel sick about it all, I really have a bad bad feeling about this, but there is nothing I can do but sit and wait. I'll hear from the lab and my Dr. tomorrow. They will test any 5 days on Wednesday, I may not know until Thursday if there are any normal/balanced to transfer. It's going to be a tough week for me.

    Waiting. Waiting to hear my karyotype results, waiting to start IVF, waiting to find out how many eggs fertilized, waiting to hear is any are normal...

    IVF #1 (May 2012) 13R, 10F, 5 blasts, ONE NORMAL frozen no transfer
    IVF #2 (July 2012) 17R, 8F, 5  blasts, ONE NORMAL 6dt on 7/12/2012- c/p
    IVF #3 (Sept. 2012) 39R, 25F, 13 blasts,  3 NORMALS! Freeze-all due to high E2.

    Beta #1 3/4/14- 105. Beta #2 3/7/13- 397 EDD-11/11/14. 1st u/s 3/20- 6w2d lil' bean with 120hb. 7w0d- lil bean's hb was 144. Graduated from RE 3/25/14.

    BOTB, fwiw I found lupron to be one of my easier injections.  It's generally a teeny little needle in the belly and you barely feel it.  Just make sure that you always let the rubbing alcohol dry completely before you inject - it keeps the shot from burning.  :)

    Thanks ladies. Dealing with the failure has definitely been the hardest part of this whole process. More than one week after my BFN, I'm still bleeding, which completely sucks. I go in this week for some more blood tests to see if anything other problems surface. Not sure if I want anything else to show up at this point. I'll be starting BCP and Lupron injections sometime at the beginning of July. Right now, I'm focusing on losing the 9 pounds I gained from my IUIs and this IVF. 

    I hope everyone else has better news to share than I did.

    IVF related - The negative beta.

    Non-IVF related - We had our cookout last night - turkey burgers, brats, potato salad, fruit salad, baked beans, and blondies. It was a nice night and a good distraction from this IVF stuff.

    IUI #1 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel = BFN
    IUI #2 - Femera + Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Endometrin = BFN
    IUI #3 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Endometrin = BFN
    IUI #4 - Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Endometrin = BFN
    IUI #5 - Menopur + Gonal-F + Ovidrel + Endometrin = BFN
    IVF #1 - Microdose Lupron Flare protocol = BFN
    FET = BFN - lost all remaining embryos
    IVF 2.0 - In progress. 20 retrieved. 16 mature. 10 fertilized with ICSI. 3, grade I embryos transferred, 7 made to freeze. Currently in the 2ww.

    Bloodwork came back Thursday - all ok. I guess I was hoping for an answer. Now I am waiting for AF to show so I can start Lupron again. Looking at a July sFET. 

    Least fav: meds, side effects and disappointment

    Menu: burnt hamburgers and sweet tea!
