TTC After a Loss

When to test?

So my husband and I miscarried our first child Feb 27th. I got my period April 2nd. My next period was April 29th. I was expecting my next period yesterday and still haven't gotten it. I know it's best to test in the am, but do you think since I've already missed my period a BFP could show up in the middle of the day? This waiting business has been driving us both bonkers lol!

TIA!

Re: When to test?

  • Just realized I haven't really been on or posted since the loss. Ignore my ticker :(

Do you chart? How do you know that you're "late"? You could have ovulated late after your loss. It's pretty normal to have wonky cycles after a loss. If you have no idea when you O'd, it's best to test at least once weekly until either a) AF arrives, b) you get a BFP, or c) 60 days has passed. At either BFP or 60 days, call your doctor. GL.

  • If you've indeed "missed" your period then yes, you should get a BFP no matter what time of day, IMO.

Please post an intro, check out the TTCAL blog, and get to know the ladies here. If you are indeed pregnant, there is a great board called PgAL. Good luck!

Hi there. You may test anytime of day you like, just know that first morning urine has a higher concentration of hormones. The choice is yours.

I would just like to bring to your attention that I think you're violating some of our board etiquette probably without meaning to. Please read the TTCAL blog right away and make the necessary adjustments to your post/ticker. Thanks.

If you would like to join the board, post an intro so we may get to know you. I'm sorry for your loss, good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm sorry for your loss but this is SO not the place to ask this question. Not only have you not posted since your loss, but according to your post history you've NEVER posted here before. This is a board for women who are TTCAL so we can't help you with your hypothetical BFP. Read the back of the HPT box if you want to know if it's too early. I truly hope you get a BFP and can move on to PGAL for good, but for now, please know that this post is hurtful. I suspect you'd never walk into a group of women who are TTCAL in real life and ask them if you should take a HPT so you surely shouldn't do it here.

    All of this.

Please read the TTCAL blog if you intend to stay (if you do not have a BFP) and post an intro.  The blog link is in my siggy.
