My Husband and I can't decide on any middle names that we both like to go with our girl name which is Riyleigh(like Riley). Our last name is Ravan(RUH-VAN).
Sorry, with the previous posts today I am totally calling MUD.
NThieme, is that you?

I dislike the spelling you have chosen and find it to be extremely confusing. I'm not a fan of the -leigh ending, but the bigger problem for me is that you have chosen to use both an 'i' and a 'y'. Choose the i or the y, but not both (better yet, just go with Riley). The 'i' makes the 'y' redundant and looks like you just threw every letter you could at the name. Complicated is not always better.
Pair it with a classic feminine name, since Riley is also frequently used as a boy's name. Catherine, Elizabeth, Alice, Isabelle, Josephine, Caroline, etc.
I don't understand the spelling. Why not just use Riley? Or Ryleigh? The I-Y together seem redundant, since they both make the same sound.
That being said, if you want to go with something pretty standard, but that flows well with anything, I would say Grace and Kate are solid bets.
I would stay away from things starting with R, or ending in y or n, because these might be a tounge twister with the rest of the name. Are there any special family names that you'd like to consider, or any ethnic heritage either of you would like to incorporate?
the reason we chose Riyleigh is because of grandmothers (Riy)ah and (Leigh)-ann and we like the spelling.
So you made a smoosh name? You know that Riley would still honor them without coming up with an atrocious spelling right? Do your child a favor and spell it correctly. Please. I'd pair it with something distinctly feminine since Riley is really mor of a boys name.

If this is real, give your kid a real name. No need to mush two family members' names together that don't work. Spell it Riley or only honor one member of the family by choosing their name as a MN. How bout Riley Ann? That's NMS, but not too terrible.
If you do go with this awful spelling you are burdening your child for life. Think about all the times she'll have to correct someone. Trust me, people get 1 letter wrong in my name all.the.time. and I hate it. She'll hate it, too.

I'm assuming your grandmother pronounced Riyah like Rye-yah or Rye-ah. Either way, the Y was there for the second syllable. In the case of Riyleigh, it is just extraneous and not needed. Rileigh or Ryleigh would still work just fine.
B/c your spelling is so outlandish and people tend to make up crazy spellings like this just to see what others will say and start MUD (made up drama).
This definitely feels like MUD.

Why not take Leigh and Ah and call her Leah? That will make your daughter's life much easier than throwing every letter you can at Riley.
And fwiw Riley would honour your grandmothers just as much as the smoosh of Riyleigh.
Why would it not be real???

I didnt really think about the y being there for the second syllable. thank you
