Early risers?

I am not complaining.....however I would love for my little one to sleep in.  She has always been a good night sleeper.  She goes to bed early (7p-7:30p) and wakes up early (5a-5:30a).  She only has 2 naps a day that are usually 30-45mins each.  I have tried to let her cry for a bit when she wakes and she may go back to sleep for 5-10 minutes but I still have to go in to get her.  Any tips?  :)

Re: Early risers?

  • No tips here but I am in the same boat! DS goes to bed between 7:30 and 8, and has been waking up by 5:30.  He used to sleep in longer when he was younger, and he went to bed earlier! I've heard sometimes moving their bed time up a little will help, but he puts up a fight any earlier than 7:30!

  • I'd be freaking celebrating  if I were in your shoes! Nick still wakes up several times a night. And Tim's an early riser, I got both ends of the stick!

  • DS also goes to bed about 7pm, and up around 530am every morning like clockwork!  He went to bed after 9pm on saturday night since we were out and about, and he slept until 7am!  On the other hand, I do not want him staying up that late, as I need my time at night, after chasing him around all day, lol!  I rather get up at 530am and have my morning coffee with him, as long as he sttn.

  • We are 6:30-7pm to 5-5:30am.  We just go to bed early now.  We've tried to adjust him and it doesn't work.  So, we adjust us.

  • Don't know if it will work for your LO or not, we were in the same boat with DD#2 and I started giving her a bottle then.  She goes right back to sleep until 7:00.  Now she sleeps later than DD#1 who gets up at 6:00-6:30.  All of which is brutal since I am a SAHM...if I could get both to 7:00 - it would be a miracle.  LOL

  • I think I just have to hit the hay earlier. Smile

The times that we've let her stay up later (because she doesn't seem tired),she is up just as early.  However yesterday she was sleepy very early as her naps were quite short.  We were feeding her her bedtime bottle @ 6:30pm.  She was in bed and sleeping before 7pm and slept until just after 6am.  I have read that sleep begets sleep.  We have tried in the past to put her to bed a bit earlier but she plays and before you know it she'd be back to her 7:30p sleep time.

I'm an early riser by habit so whether she wakes early or not is not an issue (for me).  But I know that she isn't getting enough sleep because sometimes within an hour of being up she is showing sleepy signs again.  I'll try to get her to bed a bit earlier over the next little bit and see if this helps her. :)

  • I have an early riser as well 6:00 every morning.  I don't mind because that is when the day start for us.  However on the weekend I don't mind sleeping till 8, so I give her a bottle and then a few toys in her crib she is happy for awhile and then falls back asleep!!!

  • I'm beginning to think we are just going through a phase.  On Monday evening, she was asleep in bed before 7pm and woke up just before 6:30am!  But on Tuesday evening (her afternoon nap was a bit later than normal) she didn't fall asleep until after 7:30pm but still woke up a t almost 6:30am again!
