  If your kid is a biter like mine, I would stay away from the wooden gates. Also, if you or yh will have difficulties climbing over the gate (short legs, back problems, just plain lazy...) then I would recommend getting one with a gate.

  We have the Summer Infant Extra Tall Walk Thru Gate.  It was a pain to install, but I'm very happy with it.
