C-sections

Does the OB/Midwife "Check" you...

during you normal bi-weekly visits, if you are having a Scheduled C/S? I am coming up on my 33/34 week appointment and was curious if my midwife would check my cervix during any appointments because I am having a scheduled C/S.

TIA!

Re: Does the OB/Midwife "Check" you...

  • I've only had internals with my first. After that, besides the Strep B, I have not had any internals and won't have them this time either.

I only had an internal at my first appointment.

If you don't want one just decline it.  No one can force their fingers up your hoo-ha.

  • None for me this time.
  • My OB did pelvic exams/cervical checks from 32/33 weeks on but I think in my case it was because I was expecting twins and was already measuring full term so she wanted to see if anything was going on and if we'd need to push my delivery up.

  • Yes, they did internals at several of my "last" appointments. I think from 34 weeks on, even though I was a schedulded c-section.

  • Only once while she was down there anyway for the GBS test. No other internals were performed since it was a schedules csection due to breech position.
