anyone bought a fake set of rings?

As in, fake engagement and wedding rings? I had to take my rings off over a month ago and now it's really starting to bother me. I've still got 2 weeks to my due date plus it will likely be another  1-3 months after giving birth before my hands go back to normal (if ever). The thought of spending money on fake rings seems silly, but then again, it really bugs me that I'm not wearing my wedding rings. I've substituted a different ring DH gave me when we were dating, but it doesn't look anything like a wedding or engagment ring, so I'm not overly happy with it. Anyone else bought or considered getting a faux set? If so, where did you get them from?

I did not have to do this, since my ring size never changed.  But I know people who have gotten rings like this on Overstock.com.  I would check there.

  • Yep I did for my 1st PG wore them for about 5 months last time (3 PG and 2 PP) this time I just broke them out 2 weeks ago.  I just hate not wearing a wedding ring!  Silly but it was a great $15 I spent at Kohls.

  • I did (just the wedding band) just in case. I haven't really changed sizes but just in case, I wanted to be prepared.

  • Yep, I bought one at Nordstrom's for $28 (link below).  I actually get a lot of compliments on it!

  • I didn't buy a fake set, but had to replace my wedding ring b/c DS flushed it down the toilet accidentally.

The new ring needs to be re-sized, but I'll wait until after DS2 is here. I've been wearing it, but not my engagement ring.

  • I just put mine on a chain during humid days when my fingers swell up like little hotdogs.

  • luckily I didn't have to  because my fingers never got much bigger, but I had warned my husband that I absolutely would get a fake if it did happen. I waited for five years for that ring and got pregnant 2 weeks after our wedding, I was not willing to give it up! LOL
  • Why not just get your real rings re-sized?

  • I didnt want to waste money on another set of 'fake' rings.  I have beautiful rings that will fit right after baby was here.  I don't really care what other people think of me for not wearing my rings... I know I love my husband and he loves me and we are happily bringing another baby into the world.  My rings are a symbol but not a necessity.. Ill save the 20-30 bucks and spend it somewhere else.

  • I got annoyed by constantly feeling like I had forgotten or lost my rings when I got too swollen to wear them. (I never really wore rings before I got married, but after 7 years of marriage, I am naked without them.) I found a fairly simple eternity band at Target for $10 and have appreciated the peace of mind ever since. Mind you, I started swelling around 20 weeks. I tried wearing my rings on a necklace, but I definitely preferred having something on my hand.

  • I was actually going to head to Kohls today for band. I feel I just woke up one day this week with sausage hands. My knuckles are huge!  For me, it's not so much about caring what people think, but I feel so odd with a naked finger. If I don't find anything at Kohls, I'm going to try Macy's or Claire's at the mall.
  • I can still wear my rings but I don't think I would buy fake ones if I couldn't. I know they're cheap but it doesn't seem worth it to me since it's such a temporary thing. If it bugs you a lot, I don't see the harm in buying fake ones.

  • I bought a an "eternity band" from Kohls on sale for like $8...no engagement ring since most people know what mine looks like, but the wedding band looks like my real one.
  • My wedding rings were getting a little too snug, so I started wearing an "engagement" band from QVC. I did not buy it specifically for this. I already had it and it was a bit too big (I am a 4.5 and this ring is a size 5).

So now I have been wearing it and it fits just right.

  • I did, but I was able to put my regular rings back on. I got mine from Claire's in the mall.
