LO hates bath time...any suggestions?

DS is almost 11 weeks old and he HATES the bath. I have tried getting the water as warm as I think is safe, putting the heater on full blast in the bathroom, and keeping his exposed skin covered with a warm wash cloth but nothing seems to make much difference. I feel like it's torture for him. 

 I read about so many babies who love their baths...any suggestions? TIA!

    What kind of tub are you using?...maybe he doesn't feel secure or is uncomfortable.

    try filling up your regular bath or sink and holding LO's head out, but submerging the rest of his/her body.  Some babies like to float in the water instead of sit on top of it.

    Our DS is the same way! The only part he likes he being snuggled afterward. We are making progress though... we put towels all around him so that he can feel secure and we pour water down him and he seems to enjoy that. Afterward we lotion him right up and massage him. We sing and hold him but he isn't always happy. I just hope that he learns to enjoy it and relax into it. Hopefully. Good Luck!

    My LO (and my niece) likes the water really warm. Does your bath have a sling that keeps LO out of the water? DD hated that kind of bath, she likes the kind where her body is submerged in water.

    Try doing it a little bit earlier. If my LO is too tired, he wants no part of his bath. When I get him in there earlier, he seems to like it :)

    How about your or DH getting in the tub with your LO?  We do a combination of both just him in his baby tub and swimming time with my DH. DS loves the swimming time far more than the bath on his own.

    DS started out hating bath time. So we started putting him in the tub with one of us each time and holding his head out of the water and just letting him float. He loved it! We did that for a while and then tried his tub ( I think its called Mother's touch) and he did great. We still put him in the tub with us quite a bit though just because we like it. Lol

    Look up swaddling your baby during bath time... I've heard it helps for babies who hate baths.

    We actually steamed up the barroom first and she loves it now.

    We have the right height bath centre and found the green plastic insert keeps LO too far out of the water, bath time was a nightmare (so much so that I was having nightmares of having the "smelly kid" in kindergarten...lol), I went out and bought the cheap mesh and frame Jolly Jumper bath sling/support and what a difference!! Now our little man splashes his feet in the water and smiles the entire time, so much so that I even gave him a bath two days in a row because I find it really calms him now when he has an upset belly.

    Definetley worth a try, less than 5 bucks! I am finding that alot of the "new" and improved items I bought are quickly being replaced with items that have been around so long that when I tell my mom about my new purchases she always says, "Oh, I had one of those for you", tried and true works for me!
