DS gets eye goo when his tear duct is blocked ... could that be part of the problem?
This. Both my girls had this. We had to get drops for dd1 a month or so ago. The pedi said as long as the eye is not pink, its just a blocked tear duct. She told me it will probably come back and that I could just add the drops when it did. I also massage her duct with my knuckle to help push the gunk out (as my pedi instructed). You might want to bring him in.

Emma had a cold and a weepy eye last week. The doctor said it was nothing to worry about and its normal. She is over the cold but her eye still gets gunk in it, mainly in the morning.

This. Plus, when Sophie had it, I put a drop of breast milk in the corner of her eye (near the nose where it was blocked). Totally cleared it up in a day. Not sure if you breastfeed or not, but if so, it's worth a shot.
DD's cold has also moved to her eyes. It started in her right eye yesterday, but that seems to be mostly better today. However when I woke her up today she has a gob of goo the size of a nickle on her left eye. It has been mildly goopy all day and it is a little pink. I tried to sprary her with BM but she was just angry that my bob wasn't in her mouth , so I expressed a bit and poured it in. I was at church camp and one of my friends, a nurse, was looking at it, and she suggested if it isn't better tomorrow to go visit the Dr. I am hoping the BM will clear it up, as I would prefer not to give her medicine, if it can be avoided.
This thing just keeps getting worse. Just 30 mins ago he thre up (from the mucous) and choked. Of course the doctor is closed tomorrow. He's miserable. I'm upset. I need for my baby to get well.
DS had a cold a couple weeks ago that turned into pink eye (the eye wasn't really red, but they prescribed eye drops) which then I ended up getting the pink eye. Then after that seemed to be clearing up, his eye started getting goopy again, so I took him in and turned out he had an ear infection also. The ear infection didn't bother him at all. Wasn't fussy or anything when laid down.
Can you go to urgent care? Maybe you could call and they can diagnose over the phone. That's what they did with DS's eye drops. GL
