TTC After a Loss

What do you girls know about....

Accupuncture?  A family member mentioned to me that accupuncture can help you when you are TTC.  I don't know much about it, but I definitely believe in alternative medicine, as it helped cure my asthma.  Please point me in the right direction if you know where I can find more information.

Thanks ladies!

Love.

  • I think English is right, I do believe mipper did the acupuncture. I know there are a few others too, but maybe you might get some more answers at sal?? I don't know much about it, and I think it is just the 3 of us here on this board! Crazy slow here tonight! Everyone must be diggin into their turkey dinners right now!

  • Thanks for your help girls! I have been looking on the mayo clinic website and other sites to see if it would be worthwhile.  I have long cycles and don't always ovulate, so I was hoping to find an "alternative" cure. I haven't done Clomid yet, but would prefer to acupuncture first. Thanks!

Yes, it is crazy slow today-ALL DAY!

  • There are a few girls on SAL that did accupuncture.  They might be able to answer your questions.

  • I have been doing it for nearly 2 years for a variety of things (jaw, acne, and eventually TTC).  My friend got pg after two cycles w/ acupuncture and the chinese herbs.  I got pg the first time we did the "conceiving" points, after being on herbs, etc for awhile, but that was also my m/c.  I am waiting until I get back home from Thanksgiving to POAS, and am hoping that all of the herbs and acupuncture worked.

I do know, that Chinese medicine really focuses hard on getting your body on a regular cycle, and getting the proper blood flow for you to get pg and be able to handle the pg better.

I highly recommend it, but don't have a ton of details on the how or why, or the long-term pg success.  GL!

  • Coloradogirl, thank you for being open and honest with me. I wish you luck and will be looking into this area more in the future. I am still waiting for my 2 cycles until we can TTC again.  It took me over a year to get PG the first time so I am hoping that acupuncture would decrease this amount of time for me! Good luck and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

  • I started doing accupuncture this summer and it is great. I would highly recommend it. And she is also helping evaluate my current hormones and work with me to get my body back in sync. It's also cool to be able to come home and tell DH all about the crazy pins stuck in my body!!!
  • Thanks AJ!  How often do you go? Does your insurance company pay for it? I am not exactly sure how to find a reputable acupuncturist that doesn't cost a fortune out of pocket.  What exactly does it do for you that you like so much? I was hoping that it would help regulate my periods-as they are soooooooo long and I am not sure I O every time.

    Love.

  • I've never done it but I have friends who have and it helped them get pregnant. My NP mentioned it to me when we were ttc.
