So this last week I went to the dr for an appointment. I was so so so nervous about bringing up my birth preferences with him. I don't do well with confrontation, and I was nervous about having to switch providers.
I had a big long list that included inducing, pitocin, delayed cord clamping, episiotomy, birth position, etc.
I brought up each and every point with him and he was completely on board. I'm so relieved!! I did not want to switch providers. He did say that we need to be flexible because sometimes things happen not according to our birth plan, which I'm totally okay with. But only as long as its medically necessary.
Anyway, I'm so thrilled that I thought I'd share it with you all!
Re: So Happy! I don't have to switch providers!
Good luck! Like I said, I was really nervous. But I had to remember that I'm both mine and my baby's advocate. That helped me feel better, and more determined to bring it up.
I hope your doctor is as on board as mine was/is. If not, are you going to swtich providers?
