I hate summer

If this summer weather wasn't miserable enough already, not only has the A/C in one of the cars decided to start acting up, but the A/C in the house crapped out on us yesterday afternoon.  It's probably the hottest weekend we've had this year, and it also happens to be a long holiday weekend, so of course, no business is open to come out and inspect it. UGH!

Luckily DH is handy and did some research to find out what the most-likely culprit is, and lucky for us, we have a friend who does HVAC installs, so he had an extra part laying around, but still.. even with the new part installed, it's now Sunday afternoon, the house is still about 80 degrees, and we can't do anything about it until Tuesday when we can call to get on someone's schedule to come make sure our 3-year-old unit hasn't completely crapped out on us.

Sometimes I wish I lived in Alaska...

Hope everyone else is having a better Memorial Day weekend!

    We live in SC and it happens every year to us. We have a home warranty so they fix but dont replace unless really necessary. We are selling soon so dont want to replace it. I am dreading another summer with a newborn in a hot house. we bought 2 window units for when this happens specifically.

    I agree! It's suppossed to be in the high 90's here all week and even reach 100 by Friday :( DH has a black car with leather seats and I hate getting in and out of it.

    At this point, if my AC went out, I think my husband would have to get me a hotel room or take me to a 24 hour grocery store so that I could stand in the freezer section.

    You and DH should go out for ice cream and then to the movies...it's always so nice and cold in the movie theatre!

    This happend to us last year and I promptly went out and got myself a kiddie pool filled it up stuck it under our one tree so it was shaded and spent hours on end in it.

    I also hate summer. I mean, I like being out of school and summer camp as a kid was just about the best things ever, but everything else... I HATE being hot, I hate how lethargic and slow the heat makes me, I hate humidity, I hate always being really red and sweaty, I hate how I get a headache no matter how much I drink because my body is that heat-resistant, and I hate how high the electric bills go because of the AC :(

    Oh, also I hate thunder.
