I know most of the time a c section is scheduled for 38 to 39 weeks but when do you usually sit down and say ok were gonna do it this day and this time?
Mine was not planned. But my doctor doesn't do VBACs. So my next child will be a scheduled C/S at 39 weeks he said. That's pending no complications that would make them do it sooner.

I asked my dr about scheduling my rcs. She looked at my chart and figured out when 39 weeks is for and told me which days they opperate on. After that we talked about if I would like to try and labor or not. I was able to choose which day I wanted.
unless medical issues I would not do it any earlier than 39weeks.
I am not a good candidate for VBAC so we will have a RCS. My OB and myself would much prefer I have a scheduled Csection then to go into labor and have an emergency Csection. They said I can schedule within the 39th week. I already mentioned what date I would like and they said in a few months we will get it on the books

At my 24 week appt (24w4d), I asked if I could make my c/s date, and she said sure! She got her receptionist to schedule it for Aug 13 (37w1d), due to type 1 diabetes.
I asked at my last appointment (2 weeks ago) when we would be scheduling my C-section and my OB replied with "We already did!" Mine is scheduled for 39w 1 day. In the state I live in the OBs are not allowed to do c-sections before 39 weeks unless it is an emergency and they will go to a review board if they do.
At my last appointment, May 15th (almost 31 weeks) I got to schedule my C/S for Friday July 13th. But my OB and Midwife doesn't schedule more than 2 1/2 - 3 months out. So I will be 39 wks and 2 days when my LO arrives (as long as there are no complications).
I've had mine scheduled since 12 weeks! She told me what days are her surgery days and asked me which one I wanted (after 39 weeks). I said the day that you're not going to cancel on me at the last minute!
First, unless there is a medical reason to justify it, a c-section shouldn't be scheduled before at least 39 weeks. Some docs set them months in advance, but my OB waited until May when he had his June schedule (he rotates weekends with 2 other docs) to set my c-section.

I was scheduled for 39 weeks and 0 days...ended up being cut 38 weeks and 2 days due to BP issues. Since I work at the hospital I was able to pick my day (they know what days my OB does c-sections). They saved a 1st surgery of the morning spot for me...which I ended up not using :-( Oh well, LO was big and healthy. As soon as he was delivered my BP went down and my headaches went away.

At my 36 week appointment my doctor just told me to pick a date any day in week 39.
