Okay ladies I wanna know what your first impression was of Christian and how that changed throughout the book.

Do you think Ana is off her rocker?

Would you be interested in this kind of arrangement?

I agree with you ladies I am drawn to Chrisitian's character. Rich and hot and so into her. Doing sooooo many things that he has never done before just for her. This tells me that he really does have something there for her after all.

The whole Dom/Sub thing throws me though. I am by no means a person who could be a sub and can't really stand this part of it. Everytime I saw him say something Dom like I was like "oh hell no!"

I do not like Christians mood swings! One minute I love him, the next I hate him and i'm telling her to run. I guess everyone has mood swings, but his are crazy! But Ana is odd as well. The lust has really taken over for her and I think she is confusing it with love.

I'm very like Ana - one minute I love him and the next I detest him. I agree with PP - how willing he is to try "vanilla" for her and all, it shows how much he cares for her. Do you think Ana is off her rocker? nah - to each their own. I do think she is placing far too much attachment on him. Women have a tendency to be very attached and sentimental about their "first" and I think Ana fell into this trap somewhat. My "first" - I excused so much of his bad behavior, cheating lying, even abusive tendencies. I just wanted it to work so very badly. And I feel like many women are like that.... but towards the end of the book (and especially if you read #2) I think that infatuation has turned to love.... she sees him how he really is and accepts it.

Would you be interested in this kind of arrangement? Not in the arrangement... I would be a terrible terrible Sub. However, I would be interested in the role-playing for a while... sometimes I wish DH was a little more "Dom"... I think for a short time and in specific confines, it could be a lot of fun to explore.....

I agree, especailly the bolded. I wish DH would be a little more aggressive. I think he is opening up a little but is still pretty closed up. I am the more experienced in our relationship and sometimes I get tired of being to aggressive one.

Speaking of which - did anyone else raise an eyebrow at a 20 year old woman who hadn't really even made out with a guy or touched herself ever?

I can partially relate... Not to the never making out with a guy thing... but I never really got into the whole "touching myself" thing. I know that makes me a minority generally, but I don't see how she made it to 20 without ever even making out with a guy really. I am pretty sure I did that when I was 14.

Jenek - I can't quote right now. But that was me. I lost my virginty at 20 and never touched myself. I still don't touch myself. My friends talked me into buying a vibrator, and i used it once and thats it. I didn't feel comfortable using one espdcially with DH around. LOL

Howdoes everyone feel about their age difference? Do you notice a maturity difference?

I never touched myself before I was like 18 but I was raped at 13 and had sex when I was 15. I touch myself all the time now, the other night I gave DH a Blow j and he told me to go ahead and get myself off. It was weird to do it with him there.

This. The night at the bar entirely threw me off. I didn't expect it from him, and after that I couldn't look at him as "the good guy" again. I also agree that she likes Christians harder nature.

I guess what really got me as far as painting her "lack of experience" was how "gung ho" she was from the very beginning - a real lack of the blushing innocence.... I felt the characterization of Ana wasn't consistent... I felt there should have been more lead up instead of this "I'm a virgin" and suddenly "untamed wanton sex goddess" in the space of 2 hours? And maybe I had a bad first time - but orgasming twice in your first encounter? Maybe I just had a real hard time buying that.

There age difference was wide, of course, but as the book progressed - I felt like Ana was the more "age appropriate". Christian seemed very mature in the business world, but emotionally? He felt very "teenager" to me. Much less mature then Ana in those aspects. I felt like in a lot of areas - Christian was the more experienced but Ana was more mature.

I forgot to answer the age difference part. I don't see an issue with that as I have always dated older then myself. B is 7 years and I have dated other guys with a bigger age difference. I think it depends on the maturity of both parties. Also the bolded.

OK, I may be alone on this, but I found the characters to be rather thin, so it is hard to say what I thought of them. I kind of felt like they were people who didn't exist before the book started. At least Anna didn't, and even Christian seemed like his life was a puppet show. They really didn't seem well-rounded or complete individuals, just kind of flat. Christian was obviously handsome rich and powerful in the beginning, but I don't know if he every really fleshed out for me. I never really understood his actions. Was it just that Anna was so fascinating that he decided he was going to make a bit of a lifestyle shift? Because she didn't come across as particularly fascinating.

I couldn't stand Anna, but then I couldn't stand Bella either. I hate all of these women who cannot even walk, they aren't being saved from burning buildings, they trip over their own feet. Meh. And seriously Anna should rub her brain cells together a little more often and she might not find the world so surprising.

Am I interested in this kind of arrangement? Just got through a night of trying to ballroom dance I couldn't live with following my dance partner's lead on the dance floor, so I think it is pretty safe to say I would not react well to this kind of arrangement.

I for sure agree that it seemed like there was no "before" Ana and Christian. That really hurt my ability to get into the characters.

While i see where you are coming from with your dislike for Ana, I am a person who can not walk flat surfaces and not trip so I related to her. I have no grace.

Your example for Dom/Sub made me laugh! That is a perfect example.
