Clicky poll- Will you find out gender next time?

Obviously I am bored tonight.

With Charlie we found out what we were having at an elective 17 week ultrasound. We announced the gender and what his name would be to everybody at that time.  I ended up with a c-section and I will definitely do a repeat c-section next time. I feel like next time I will wait to find out since we will already know what the birth date will most likely be due to scheduling a repeat c-section. I would hate to know probable birth date, name and gender. I am not sure I would be able to stick to this when the time comes though!

Re: Clicky poll- Will you find out gender next time?

  • I'm not having anymore so this question doesn't really apply to me anymore but I do have an opinion. I had a c/s with both kids and I found out the sex with both kids. Personally, I like knowing everything I can before hand so I can be prepared, then again, I am not one for surprises. I think there are plenty of surprises when you have a baby (like what they baby will look like) that knowing the birth date and sex won't take away from the awesomeness of that moment. JMO

  • I want to find out - only because if it's a boy, 90% of our baby stuff is pink! So we would need to prepare a little. Plus DH and I are too impatient. We are just as "surprised" finding out at 20 weeks as if we waited all 40. Maybe once/if we have one of each, we will try waiting it out. That way we have clothing/supplies for a boy or a girl - so we'd be covered.

    TTC #2 since 10/2013

    BFP #1 (4.14.14) ~ CP (4.18.14)

    BFP #2 (6.27.14) ~ EDD 3.7.15

  • I'm definitely finding out. We found out at 15 weeks with DD but didn't really buy anything until after it was confirmed at the A/S. I'm way too impatient to wait. I'm the kid that looked at all the presents before Christmas.
I am considering finding out and telling every one that we still don't know or maybe not give out the name. I'm not sure I could keep my mouth shut.

  • Found out it is a boy this time.  I will find out next time and if it is a girl, I will let #3 be a surprise (then I will have enough stuff that it won't matter)

  • I will this time since a lot of our stuff is too boyish for a girl. If some cosmic powers align and we end up with a girl for #2 and we decide to go for #3 (which is where the cosmic powers come into play), I'd go team green since we'd already have one of each. But, since I don't get a baby shower the second time around, I think it would be fun to do a gender reveal party instead for #2.

  • I have zero patience. I like to know :-)

If we do conceive again go for #2 then I'd like to know. However if 2 was a girl again I'd opt to see for #3 but if #2 was a boy I'd be okay with trying for a surpris for 3

  • We found out with DD and will find out for #2 as well.  All of our gear is neutral, if not a little more towards boy (blues and browns since it went with the colors of our house).  But 95% of the clothes are girl with only some neutral stuff.  If #2 is a boy, I want time to go shopping for clithes for him.  Actually, even if #2 is a girl, I know I will want to get some new clothes anyways.  Everything else we'll reuse from DD.

BFP #1 6-8-11 EDD 2-19-12. DD born 2-3-12 via induction due to pre-e.
    BFP #2 9-7-13 EDD 5-22-14. It's a GIRL! DD#2 is on her way.
  • I'm far too impatient to wait. Plus all my stuff is so boyish, if it's a girl I'll have some serious shopping to do. I will probably do it differently as far as how we announce it. Since it was our first, we had a big party with a gender reveal cake. I think this time around we might keep the news to ourselves for a while and just tell our family.

We were team green for DS.  I was all about waiting it out, but DH wanted to find out.  We made a deal to be team green for kiddo #1, and find out for kiddo #2.  I'd be more than willing to be team green again, I loved not knowing.  It will be good to know for shopping purposes though.  We didnt get a lot of clothes at the shower because we didnt know what we were having, so most of the clothes that we have are boyish.

I loved not knowing and don't think I will next time, either.
