Here's a new Q for ya

Ok. If Colt has a nasty cold, would it be better for HIM if I get it so that he gets my antibodies to help him fight it off? (I EBF) I ask only because I've started to get ssymptoms of his cold and the thought crossed my minds. Does that sound right or made up? Haha

  • Your body is already making antibodies for him. Since you ebf, once his lips touch your breast, his saliva will mix with you're breast milk and it send signals to your body, so since your lo is sick, its already sent that signal and your breast milk starts producing antibodies to fight it and tree will get it through your milk. This is what our lc told us, which is another great benefit of breast feeding!

  • Yes its amazing!! I never knew that either until at the hospital our lc came in and saw me breast feeding and was all excited cause the day before I was saying I couldn't do it, so she sees me and starts telling me the benefits of breast feeding. I was amazed!! Its amazing what our bodies do for our babies!!
