So I just got my Diono R120 in and I attempted to install it tonight. FAIL! First off the fricken thing is heavy as all hell, the mosquitos were eating me alive and its humid. Ok, to the point....The LATCH to rear face is attached with a weird screw to the seat. The instructions say to remove it from the plastic things, but doesn't say anything about removing it from the screw. Without removing it from the screw I really don't see how I will be able to install it. Anyways, what I am really pissed about is how I had to pull my passenger seat so far up that I can not sit in it without my knees being in the dash. I drive a Kia Sorento and my hope was that these seats would be great considering I am having another LO soon.
I'm beyond frustrated and I really just want to return it because I temporarily had a Graco MyRide 65 (my mom's seat for DD) installed in my car until my Diono came in and that seat fit so much better in my car. Problem with returning it? My in-laws procrastinated ordering this seat for MONTHS (4 to be exact) and tried to talk me into getting something else, but my mind was made up on the Diono. Now I feel horrible that it isn't going to work out. They are horrible procrastinators and I just know the seat is going to sit in my house for months waiting to be exchanged/returned.
Anyone have a Diono and have a fitting problem in their car?
Re: Carseat Install vent
Great idea, but what happens after LO2 gets here in 2-3 months? I was thinking about doing it, but was told by everyone on the 2u2 board not to put a 1 year old right next to a newborn.
You might need the angle adjuster under the seat. I don't have first hand experience with the seat, but supposedly it helps when installing and will give you more front seat space. The angle adjuster is ten bucks on amazon.
Also, check out car-seat.org, it's a great resource and the people are very helpful.
