Siggy warning

I hope you don't mind me responding. This is regarding the metanx.  Most likely the RE put you on it for the c667t homo MTHFR. It's a high dose b vitamin/folic acid that is already in its broken down form to allow for easier absorption. With that particular variant of MTHFR, your body has a hard time breaking down regular folic acid to its usable form. My son had a fatal NTD, and my RE attributes this to the MTHFR (I have two copies of c667t as well). I started taking metanx after that pg and after the MTHFR was discovered. Thankfully, no other NTDs to date. I take it for three months before starting a cycle, and continue it throughout pregnancy.

Ive been to two RE clinics over the years, and both were in agreement for lovenox throughout pg as well since that MTHFR is a higher risk for clots.

Anyways, hope you don't mind me chiming in (I stalk worms on occasion); I hope this answered your question.

I don't mind you responding - thanks for the info. I did speak with the doctor and this is the same thing he said. I have already been on Folgard for a long time but he said this is a "newer, better" version. I'm also nervous about the lovenox because I had a lot of bleeding in my last pregnancy (that is why I lost my daughter). But Worms assures me Dr B knows what he is doing!
