June 2011 Moms

FFF

J still takes a bottle into the crib with him. and i don't intend to stop anytime soon. i brush his teeth when he gets up, and he won't use the paci but will use and empty bottle so i replace the old bottle with a clean empty and it works for him and i get to sleep through the night.

  • I'm not going to clean my house before the big birthday party this weekend because it's just going to get dirty/messy anyway with all the people here.

  • I am at work and there are only 9 days of school left.  I've given the kids "busy" work and computer time twice in the last two days for one hour so I could clean up the classroom for the summer...

  • Maya was getting tons of baby food jars through WIC- a lot more than she was consuming since she preferred chunky finger food from a young age.  I have realized, though, that she will take fruit purees on toast or mixed into cottage cheese, etc.  And, I realized that pear puree is pretty tasty- so I've been eating it on toast as well.  I stopped getting the veggie jars since she won't eat them anyway and stocked up on jars of pears...for myself as much as for M.

  • I get annoyed at all the first time mom drama of women in their first tri. I'm pregnant again and trying to visit my BMB and 1st Tri board, and although I used to be a FTM, a lot of the questions and posts are aggravating! Whine, whine, I hate my MIL, whine, whine, I'm so HUGE. how much weight have you gained already, whine, whine..... I think it's the hormones b/c DH is driving me nuts, too! Ha.

Thank god Cass is on my BMB. She is one of the only few people not getting carried away in the dramz.

Is that me? I stay far away from all that nonsense. It scares me! I used to post more but I just don't have the energy anymore. There is a Dec 12 FB group that is much nicer (lots of second time moms and no drama). Makes me appreciate the June board donning more!

And cook! Sometimes I sneak baby food into meals so MH gets some veggies in him. He hates vegetables and refuses to eat them. So I put sweet potato pur?e and squash in tomato sauce or chili.

This is me as well.  I hope to stop soon though, but if it affects his sleep I will push more to have him off of it by 14 months, but even then I'm not in a huge rush.  I don't give him an empty bottle, but if he wakes up in the middle of the night he gets a bottle with a little water, he seems fine with it and I am as well because he sleeps for 12 hours at night.

I did use baby jars of applesauce to make muffins b/c I was out of regular applesauce, and I recently used the pears to add to pancakes- But I never thought of sneaking the veggies into stuff!  Thanks for the suggestions- even though I've stopped redeeming the checks (it doesn't feel right since we barely use the baby food), but I still have quite a bit in the house.

Just a suggestion, you could always get the food still and donate it to a local women and childrens shelter, just a thought.

ETA: I don't think it's illegal, although I don't know either.  I just think it's illegal to sell it after you get it, I don't believe it is against the rules to donate it, or give it to someone in need.  I know there is a teen mom shelter by my house, and some of them don't have the transportation to get to the WIC office (as they can be far) and they rely on donations.
