I just left my 27 week OB appt where he (finally) went over my 20 week scan. Apparently one of the baby's feet was looking "off" and the tech marked some concern for a club foot. My dr said more often then not it turns out to be nothing, and even if he does end up being born with one he will probably have to wear a cast for a few weeks, and then I guess a brace until he's 2. I have another sono at 32 weeks and they'll check again. I was doing ok all day until I made the mistake of googling it, and then I made myself upset. Did anyone have a similar experience, either with a misdiagnosis or with treatment for a club foot? I

Re: might be dealing with a club foot
I had the same thing happen with my DD. All repeat scans in 3rd tri were consistent with the diagnosis.
She came out PERFECT! I guess my advice is to just wait and see. Either way, as sad as I was at the time, I was so happy it wasn't a serious or permanent disability/disfigurement.
I hope you have the same experience as I did.
BFP May 2017.
BFP November 2011 TWINS!!!. Lost a twin at 7 weeks. DS born VBAC.
BFP July 2009. DD born via c/section for breech presentation.
BFP Jan. 2009. Missed miscarriage at 9 weeks.D&C March 2010
December 2009 - Diagnosed with bicornuate uterus.
I don't have personal experience with clubfoot during pregnancy, but my dad and my husband were both born with club feet. Yeah, it sucks that a baby has to have surgery but both of them turned out 100% okay with no lasting issues - and that was long before today's medical advances. I'm not trying to diminish the stress of what you are going through, but just know that clubfoot is a very minor thing that can be dealt with easily.
GL.
This isn't really the same thing- but I once dated a guy who was born with only two fingers on each hand. That didn't stop him from getting a high-level government job, or from traveling the world- so I wouldn't worry too much!
I haven't read the other responses, so sorry if this is redundant.
My sister had a club foot and she wore casts for about 3 months and learned to walk in a cast as well. She's an adult and has never had a foot problem since her club foot was healed. She didn't need a brace or special shoes.
My DD has Metatarsus Adductus which is a curvature to the foot similar to club foot. She had a cast for 6 or 8 weeks and learned to crawl in her cast, she was around 5 months. Since then she has used corrective shoes during the day and different corrective shoes at night while she sleeps. There has been great improvement, but we still have a bit more to do.
The Dr explained to me that every case is going to need different treatment. Some only need a couple casts (you get them changed every two weeks bc of baby's rapid growth) and some cases need to go between shoes and casts for a year or more. And you don't know for sure how much treatment is needed until you see how the foot is reacting to the treatment.
GL. But keep in mind, there are so much worse things than club foot or similar. You would be amazed at how quickly young children and babies adapt. DD was never once bothered by her cast.
