Shopping cart issue

No, this has nothing to do with returning carts!  :)

Apparently Joey can now reach the items in the cart.  At the end of our shopping trip today, he turned around and grabbed the carton of a dozen and a half eggs and spilled them all over our groceries and the floor of the store!  Oops!!  The people around and the workers at Giant were very nice about it.  :)

Re: Shopping cart issue

  • UH OH! Audrey started doing the same thing our last shopping trip. I had to take a few things away from her, luckily no eggs! I ended up grabbing something for her to play with for the rest of the shopping trip.

  • Liam grabs things also. Last week, he tried to shoplift a bunch of things by picking them up out of the cart and putting them into my diaper bag.

  • Yup. I have learned I have to keep stuff out of her reach.

  • I always give DD something to hold or she goes nuts.  She throws toys so I usually give her some package that is plastic and she's happy making noise and chewing on it.
  • DD is okay so long as I give her something to hold as well. I usually bring a bib and teething biscuit to keep her entertained and it works for a little while.

  • I tend to distract him with a canteloupe or watermelon (something heavy and awkward to pick up) sitting in the seat right next to him. He pats it like a pet, and leaves the rest of the cart alone!
