Non-BF, freaked out

I was looking up pick your own farms and found one I did not know about but remembered the last time I looked up the sexual offender registry there was more than one person on that street so I wanted to make sure it is not at this farm (yeah, paranoid). So I am looking at pictures of all the registered offenders and the weird guy from our grocery store that gathers carts and tries to talk to me about the Philadelphia Eagles bc DH has something on the car. He always weirded me out but I thought he was harmless but just of very low intelligence (because of how he acts).  He committed acts of sexual assault on 2 girls under 13 that he was baby-sitting.

I am a little freaked bc he always tries to talk to me, never the kids at least. I will make DH take off the Eagles stuff tomorrow too.

  • I'm wondering if maybe his manager knows and maybe his PO helped him to get the job.  Definitely watch your kids, though! Most likely, he is functioning a little lower and has poor social skills. I find it odd he has that kind of record and works somewhere kids frequent.

  • Wow scary. I'm an oncology nurse and and often treat the same patients for years, so we develop relationships with patients. I was browsing the sex offender registry and found one of my favorite patients had molested 2 children under 10. It made me sick. I often talked about my family with him. He brought my son (who was 9 at the time) a baseball hat from the local college. Freaked me out and I switched him to another nurse.

I found it weird too. I am also guessing that they know of his record since it is so easy to find but who knows. Logically I know that sexual offender you know about is less of a concern than the one you do l not know about and probably would not say anything as long as he does not approach the kids since him working is probably better than him being out of work. So weird that less than a week ago I told DS to hurry into the car bc I do not want to talk to that guy, I never make rude comments like that directly to my kids.  I could always shop at the other grocery store that is just as close and probably cheaper but not as nice but this makes me realize that there is a good chance that all grocery stores have serious criminals working for the and you just have to be very careful.

Oh, and I remember seeing his mug shot before online and thinking, wow that guy would totally stick out in a crowd but the reality is that I did not recognize him before and he did not stand out enough.

  • Ugh, creepy! I did that once and found a regular customer from the restaurant that I  worked at was a sex offender. The creep used to flirt with me! It was disgusting.

  • Molesters groom the parents first to get to the children. That is why he's so nice to you and I'm sure any other parent present with kids.

However, it's probably highly unlikely he would have an opportunity to do something to your child because I am sure you don't allow your kids to run free in the store.
