When could your walker stand up?

DD has finally started walking! (Well, almost - she is taking lots of steps but still learning) However, she can't stand back up without something to pull up on so if she falls she has to crawl to a piece of furniture to stand back up. For those of you with walkers, when did your LO learn to stand back up on their own without having to pull up?

Also, how long from when your LO started taking numerous steps to no longer crawling?

It was I think two weeks before he started standing up without something to grab onto, and right around that same time he pretty much stop crawling all together. But don't get me wrong, sometimes he still randomly decides he's gonna crawl somewhere

  • DD stands up on her own now but has only taken a couple of steps.  She usually gets into a standing position, then goes back down to crawl when she wants to go somewhere.

Not very long..maybe 1-2 weeks.  Now he walks everywhere...no crawling at all unless he's under a table or something!!!!
  • Isaac is not walking yet, but my friend's son is about his age and has been walking for a month. He is able to stand without something to pull up on now, but he looks pretty unsteady when he does it. So I think he's just mastering that skill.

  • N isn't quite walking yet (he'll take a couple of steps here and there but no more than 2 or 3) but he could stand up without pulling up at maybe 9 months?  I don't know for sure but it's been a while.

  • It only took about 2 weeks or so, once he got it he was quickly a pro and he moved on to running and climbing...so watch out!
