Hi I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm new to The Bump and have been spending most my time on my BMB until I got a recommendation to visit over here as well. ![]()
We had our first BFP 8/30/2010 and a natural m/c on 10/3/2010. I guess up until that happened to me (possibly because it was an unplanned pregnancy) I just never thought that was in the cards, not really even an option that crossed my mind. Of course it was heartbreaking. We received our second BFP on Mother's Day (5/13) of this year. Let the ball of nerves begin! I have been trying to look at this one a little different and know that there is a possibility there won't be a baby at the end of this ride. Even telling yourself that daily just doesn't make bad news like todays much better.
I was thinking I was at 6w4d today I measured at 6w. I know that?s not off by too much but we only saw the sack and the yoke, no hb. I would think that even if it was 6w I still should have seen something more. I go in next week for another ultrasound to see what the status is. I'm not giving up hope but it?s a hard scary ride as you all know too well.
Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope I can join your group to get to know some people who know how it feels. Thanks.
Re: Intro - Sad first u/s (kinda long)
I'm glad you made it over here, welcome to the board.
Sorry to hear that your first u/s didn't bring more relief. Don't give up hope - I think that 6 weeks is pretty early to see a hb. I hope you get the good news you need next time.
I can sympathize though - my betas didn't double as quickly as they should and I go in for another draw tomorrow. I am worried as heck. I really don't want to face yet another loss.
T&P to you!
BFP #1 - missed m/c 4.18.11 found @8w3d, d&c @13w
BFP #2 blighted ovum found 8.2011 @8w, misoprostol
BFP#3 - missed m/c 6.11.12 @ 9w3d, d&c revealed extra chromosome 15

Actually what you saw is pretty normal for 6w. At 5w5d with dd, all we saw was a yolk and gest. sac.
What makes you think you are 6w4d? We're you charting or under the care of an RE?
BFP #3 via cancelled IUI ~ C (2lb 3oz; HELLP) 5/16/11
BFP #4 via the natural (free!) way ~ E (8lb 11oz) 9/13/12
Welcome to the board! 6w and 6w4d is pretty common, I think a lot of women measure 2-4 days off throughout (I am always 1-5 days off but growing on track). 6w is also a little early to see a hb, some do and some don't. GL and I hope you next u/s goes amazingly well.

congrats and welcome. I'm sorry your first u/s caused more anxiety than it relieved. At 6w, things progress by the hour, so if your u/s had been scheduled for later yesterday or even today, the results could have been much different. My doc will no even do dating scans until 7w because by then a hb should be seen most of the time.
I'd say keep the faith. At this point you aren't having any cramps or bleeding/spotting and that's another sign that all is well. I know you will have an anxious few days until your repeat scan, but please do not lose hope.
same thing happened to us! we had a pregnancy loss in january 2012, so we were very excited to learn we're expecting again in april 2012. went in for for our 6w ultrasound and only saw the gestational and yolk sacs. no fetal pole. needless to say, i was devastated! i had pretty much started to mourn for a loss again. well, after a whole lot of prayer and determination to be hopeful, we went back for the 8w ultrasound. and what do you know, there was a little peanut with a beautifully beating heart!! and they measured, at the time of the ultrasound, 7w4d. don't meant to be a "ditto" to others' comments but i hope this will give you some encouragement!!!
Thank you all so much for your warm words and well wishes, it really means a lot to me and takes me out of my "dark" place. I will continue to keep the faith, like Mrs.Lele said, "Today I am pregnant and I love my baby.?
The reason I thought 6w4d was based off my LMP. I am having some cramping off and on but it doesn't usually last more than 2 minutes at a time on a pain scale it?s about a 3.
Again thank you all so much, I really wish I had this outlet a couple years ago. You all have given me a lot of hope.
Congrats and welcome! As others have said, being 4 days off is nothing, especially if you were not charting and do not really know when you ovulated. Also, we saw two gestational sacs at 5w5d, two gestational sacs and yolk sacs at 6w3d, and two hearbeats at 6w5d. I wouldn't worry about it (easier said than done though, I know!).
I hope you have a very happy and healthy nine months!
Lost our first little peanut on 1/17/2012 at 9 weeks and 5 days. We miss you little blessing, but we know you were too perfect for this world.
