So I typed out the long version, and can't do it again. Short story: Our Team Green baby turne Team Blue and I pushed out 10 lb, 11 oz Connor in 4 pushes while feeling waaaaay more than I wanted to due to my worn out epidural.
DS #1 was a big baby and I delivered him without complication so I never had growth ultrasounds with #2. My OB was like "well you did it once you can do it again." We had no idea how big he really was. Well, I did do it, but don't know how you med-free mamas handle it, it was ridiculous and I was like the crazy pregnant woman in movies, screaming my head off. Connor did tear out my Foley catheter which required my urethra to be stitched up and I was sent home with a catheter bag strapped to my leg for a week. That was the worst part of recovery honestly. Because it happened so fast, I didn't have near the amount of swelling I had with #1 that took 2 hours to push out.
Good luck to all the remaining May mommies to be!
Re: Ack! bump just ate up my birth story *sigh*...abbreviated version
Congrats on your big baby! I'm totally wincing in sympathy pain at the...shudder. FWIW, an unplanned med-free birth is more painful than a planned one because you aren't expecting it. It's like someone walking up to you and jabbing you with a needle vs knowing you're about to get a shot.
Still shuddering. Maybe I'll rethink this epidural thing tomorrow and just deal with the pain.
