Question for mamas with breech babies

Did your pediatricians have you take your babies to get a hip ultrasound? If so, did you do it and what was it like? TIA

I did. It was very simple. They did an u/s of her hips and I fed her a bottle while they did it. She didn't cry or anything. The worst part was getting her naked. She hates being naked. But once I popped the bottle in her mouth, she was good to go.

We are suppose to get it done. Cant remember when. But yes it is on the books. Good tip about the bottle thing. My DS LOVES to be naked...but he hates the cold....will try the bottle trick.

Yes DS had one at 1 month old. He did pretty good. He did start to cry towards the end. It took about 10 minutes.

The pediatrician wanted us to get it done but when we went to the pediatric orthopedist, he said it was fine and not necessary.

I asked the attending pedi at the hospital about it. They said we didn't need to since it was my second baby. Apparently breech babies of FTMs are much higher risk, and our baby didn't have any issues on physical exam.

We had one done while still in hospital. Poor little guy was only 2 days old, but it didn't take too long. They also did an ultrasound of his head/scull, it freaked me out a bit, but the pedi explained that she usually does it standard together with the hip u/s for breech babies. Everything was fine.
