Caught my 1st POOP!!!

Out of sheer curiosity after some Elimination Communication research, my scientific self decided to hold my almost 7-month-old DD over a bathroom sink to see if she'd pee in it. To my amazement, the first couple of times we tried yesterday, she actually tinkled a few drops! Obviously, I missed the bulk of the pee, but I was impressed that she actually released her bladder on cue! This morning, I was hoping to catch a full pee with some better timing & she scared me half to death with an explosive EBF poops!!! AMAZING! I was in my glory & so proud as I disinfected my BR sink :-) Feel free to also brag over your "EC" successes! I love to read about everyone else's experiences. DH knows we're doing a little EC on the side and thinks it's bad-a**. The rest of my family is going to think I'm nuts...I get (playfully) made fun of for cloth diapering...that's nuthin'! ;-)

    :-) You sound like something of a veteran! How old is your LO? How long have you been ECing for? Are you completely diaper-free? I'm silly excited over this. Obviously!

    Yay!  That's inspiring.  I've just started holding my baby in the EC position in her diaper and making grunting sounds when she's pooping.  I haven't been brave enough yet to try to catch one diaper free.

    We only do half hearted EC, before baths, during some diaper changes, and now that she can sit up, sometimes I'll bring her with me to the bathroom. We've had a lot of luck catching pees before bathtime, but have yet to catch a poop. Congrats!

    Yay! Poo catches are the best. We catch most poops and I am so glad because I loathe spraying poopy diapers.

    Yeh, it'll happen eventually. I wasn't intentionally aiming for a poops, but that's what I got! DD actually pooped in the bath the other day while my mom was watching her (for the 1st time, ever!). I can't help but think maybe she thought that was a good opportunity to let loose like her mama showed her! My mother said D thought it was hilarious, at that! I didnt have the guts to tell my mom what we'd been practicing! Smart of you to give your LO an opportunity to eliminate before bathtime ;-)

    We just started ECing on Tuesday. He has pooped in the potty every time since then (3x per day) and I have caught pee with each of the poops and a handful of other times. I LOVE EC and DS seems to be a natural at it. Bonus--no scraping diapers.

    My family thought I was crazy too...until I started catching all his poops.  Now they're like, fascinated.  My MIL watched him for the first time the other night and she put him on his potty before his bath and he peed.  She couldn't wait to tell us when we got home, lol.  They'll come around! :)

    he's almost 10 months, we started at 5 months.  Now that the weather is warmer and my baby is starting to be more mobile we're doing lots of diaper free time.  I felt bad doing it when it was colder and when he couldn't move as much b/c if he had an accident he'd just be sitting in it, you know?  

    He is nowhere near perfect but I have found that he does WAY better diaperless because he sees diapers as a safe place to go, but is more likely to hold it if he's naked.  Definitely still use diapers when we go out and during naps/bedtime but I like to have lots of naked butt time during the day.

    Wow! That's impressive & he does seem natural at it! I posted this original two days ago and the following day (yesterday) I caught NOTHING! Haha. I was bummed, but I guess she really wanted to use her diapers all day. Eh, we have fun smiling in the mirror at each other while we try for pees, nonetheless!
