BabyG_ had an elective ultrasound on Friday (It?s a ?????).  She did a Gender Reveal Cake to let the family know on Sunday.  (How did it go?)  Sdtchica13 joined our group this week (she is currently TTC and is on cycle number 3).  Lucy460 also joined our group this week (she is currently 8 weeks pregnant and a little scared).  Jcsntms06 updated us on some of the girls who were pregnant and due at the beginning of May.  Hopefully those girls will pop on over and give us an update of their own soon.

Alright, girls?  How can we make this a very active thread?  When I first joined this thread (a long time ago)?I was an original poster when this thread began?it was CRAZY busy!  We were all very close and had a great time being pregnant and scared and happy all together!  So, let?s try to do that again!  Any ideas???????

Re: Pregnant (&TTC) after a Preemie Check In

  • Hi everyone!  I know I'm over here very infrequently, but I'll try to make it over more!

We're on cycle #9 of TTC and have had 2 c/ps, one in January and one in April.  I finally switched OBs and now have a script for progesterone because I've always suspected that I had a LP defect, plus I'm still BFing.  It was nice that he saw what I saw on my charts.  If that doesn't work, I'll switch to clomid in a few months, but I'm really hoping to not have to need that.

I find it interesting that if I finally get a sticky baby, I'll be on the progesterone suppositories until the end of 1st tri and then start the 17p pretty soon after that.  Apparently I need lots of progesterone, lol.

Is there a QOTW to get us chatting some more?

  • I'm sorry about your losses, Sucrets :(

I am pretty sure I O'd yesterday and I'm excited to be in the game as my 1st postpartum cycle was 50 days.

It is so hard to think about phantom due dates this time knowing they don't mean much...

  • Hello, I'm Janeen had my DD at 25 weeks due to eclampsia.  I'm pregnant now due in January.  I have a few questions about some of the abbreviations...where can I find a list?  I am not familiar with all the causes for preterm birth.  Thanks in advance.

YEY, Janeen! Another January due date. I was starting to get lonely :) My DS was born 2 days before 25 weeks due to incompetent cervix. I wonder how similar our stories are.

Lucy460-I am so glad to hear you are seeing a therapist to help with all the anxiety. I am also seeing a psychiatrist and a counselor weekly to help me manage all the fear and so far the strategies are working and I am really enjoying this pregnancy!

I'm not sure how how to get the board more chatty but I, for one, am really excited to have other women who have "been there" with preemies and are now giving more kids a shot. It makes me feel so much less alone when I hear other friends (without prior preemies) who are pregnant and hoping to have the baby "as soon as possible," etc, as far away from Christmas as possible (her due date), etc... I love that we all get it here.

I would post more often but for whatever reason, I can't reply on my iPad and that is where I am usually online. Anyone know why I can't or how to fix it?

This is getting long, but what the heck! I haven't been to the OB yet but I'm guessing I'm about 7 weeks along and this pregnancy has been so easy so far compared to my first. I was sick sick sick by 5.5 weeks last pregnancy. I've just had bloating and mild nausea (no puking yet!) so far, and some breast tenderness and fatigue, but no horrible migraines either. I am loving this! Can't wait for my first OB appt on May 30th.

Good luck to all of you ladies!

  • Hi! I'm Lili, mom of a 2.5 year old who was born at 34w4d due to PTL. He stayed at the NICU for 12 days due to his poor feeding sessions (he would fall asleep while having his bottle!) Matthew is doing wonderfully now, he always amazes me  on how smart and funny he is, although he has always been a picky eater, but seems to be getting to eat better recently.

I am 16 weeks pregnant now with my 2nd one, and I am going to start the 17p shots hopefully next week (waiting on the pharmacy to ship the med), since my Dr. said I was a good candidate for this treatment, and after hearing all of the success stories around here, it gives me hope to not having to go through the NICU experience again!

Best wishes and good luck to everyone!-Lili.

  • Cara, I would love to swap stories about our first pregnancy.

I have an appointment tomorrow with my current OB just to check everything out.  However, I have to find another one b/c my doctor does not deliver anymore :(  I was taken yoga before I found out I was pregnant so I am planning to continue during this pregnancy. I found it relaxes me and I feel so much better after class.  I have my concerns but I try not to focus on them.  I did a lot of talking and research before getting pregnant so I am more comfortable about it.

Sending happy thoughts to you all.

  • Hello. My name is Liz. Now 2.5 year old DS @ 25w3d via emergency C- due to acute placental abruption. TTC (hopefully) August 2012.
  • Did you ever find a list of those abbreviations?
