Macey, Augustyna, Bronica, Cecylia, Delfina. I'm not a fan of Polish names but then it probably because I have no Polish in me. Good Luck, Maybe you could fine a name you like in you Family Tree.

  • I really like Katarzyna and Elzbieta. There's something great about a justifiable z.

  • I have a friend named Katarzyna, nn Kasia. I love her name. I also know an Aleksandra and I love the spelling...could never justify it with my McLastname though.

Macey is not a Polish name, neither is Bronica, Delfina. Delfin means "dolphin" in Polish. No one names their daughter "dolphin" in Poland. Nice try.

  • Please, before naming your child any of these suggested names, look them up, because half of them aren't Polish and some are nn.

Some that work well in the U.S. are:

    Aleksandra (nn Ola/Olenka)

    Monika

    Julia

    Oliwia

    Klara

    Klaudia

    Barbara (nn Basia)

    Katarzyna (nn Kasia)

    Kamila

    Zofia (nn Zosia)

    Helena

    Natalia

  • I'm 100% Polish. My name is Katarzyna Weronika, I go by Kathy. I would google search since there are so many and as someone stated not all the names given in this post are real Polish names. Also if you like something make sure you search the pronunciation. YouTube it if you have to. Sometimes it doesn't sound like you think it might. Someone mentioned Anya, but it Polish it's spelled Ania and it's a nn from Anna. I do agree Ania is a pretty name. I also like Wioletta and Klaudia. And my favorite old school Polish name is Maja, pronounced Maya. That is our top pick for a girl, but we will spell it Maya. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

I have a very polish last name and it begins with Czy and you DON'T pronounce the Z (it's pronounced Chi- as in the beginning of the word "chip").  Just because there is a Z in the name doesn't mean you pronounce the Z as you would in English and alot of people will mispronounce and misspell it.  Funny thing is I went to HS with someone that had the last name Czech (pronounced like Czech Republic) and people ALWAYS got his name right but couldn't translate that same thought process when it came to my name.  My H also has a polish last name so we were looking through Polish names but none stuck out to me.  H was/is OBSSESSED with the name Rafal (sp?) but its a boy name.

Sorry no help for girl names, but IMO if I were to go with a Polish name that was pronounced like an English name I would spell it in the English form.  However it would lose some of the effect.  It also loses the "uniqueness" which is one thing I LOVE about my last name and why I stuck with it for work purposes.  I just would do plenty on internet research on the correct pronounciation since, like other languages, letters aren't pronounced the same way.

I know this is an old post, I'm searching old posts for good polish/Slavic names, and came across this.. My last name starts with Czy too!! I had to comment because it doesn't happen often :)

    Lol sorry to disappoint!

@GermanGirl2007 Aniela is so pretty - is it a variation of a different name? It doesn't sound familiar...

I'm Polish and hubby is German background (but doesn't speak German) so I'm trying to find something that flows with both languages

  • My friend is 100% Polish & I love her name. Annetta!!!!
