Anyone take their child to a pediatric dentist? DD will be 3 this summer and ready for her first dental visit. I'm trying to decide whether to take her to my dentist or find one who specializes in kids. She has no dental issues that we're aware of, but I feel like she might be more comfortable in a kid-friendly environment.
I'd love some recommendations! We're in the west metro.
Re: Pediatric dentist
I take my dd to the kid Saturdays at Park Dental in *** Rapids and have had great experiences there. I believe a number of the PD locations offer this service. If you are looking for a specific pediatric dentist, Dr Darcy, in *** Rapids, Riverdale, comes highly recommended. I think her website is something along the lines of cavity patrol. Good luck!

We just brought dd for the first time last month to Metropolitan Pediatric Dental. They have a few offices. We went to the one in Fridley and saw Dr Bates. She was wonderful with my daughter. I was just going to bring dd to our regular dentist but my hygienist actually said that she brings her kids to a ped dentist and sometimes it's a lot easier for the kids if they go to a ped because they are so used to working with kids. It was a good experience and I'm glad we brought her in when we did. They did a fluoride treatment and we'll be back in 6 months to get her first cleaning.
