What to expect at pre-op?

I have mine today for my rcs tomorrow!

Re: What to expect at pre-op?

  • I think they draw some blood (do a CBC) and have you sign anesthesia forms--at least that's what they're doing at mine next week, and maybe you pre-register and all that? Then I think that's when they give you pre-op instructions (ie. NPO after midnight, cleanse surgical area with Hibiclens--not all instructions include that, but just an example of what I remember from my last pre-op appt).

Good luck and enjoy meeting your baby tomorrow!!!

    Blood word and paper signing.
  • Just got home. Weird, they did no blood work or instructing. It was pretty much a waste of time. Took my bp, listened to mine and baby's heart beat. Repeated my medical history from the screen and took my weight.I had someone call me with instructions last week though.
